Fricking irritating UK left driving So you finally get used to it, then you go back to driving in Brussels and BAM ticket!
Enjoying the game tbh, drove 3300 km yesterday when I got it Loving the web radio adition. Parking was quite the challenge untill I figured out there are actually other camera's than cabin view |
LOL.. its way easy to just go "enter" but I dont im forcing myself to master reversing.. the trick is small small movements for general moving/and slight corrections, and large over steer turning for general getting into rough position.. Or it seems that way..

I take it you're a truck driver
So what's your opinion on the game, especially on the handling models and such? I'm just wondering how it fares in physics in relations to real trucks (acceleration and braking, rain behavior and such).
Having fun with the game, though I can't figure out if there is traffic laws enforcement in the game. I seem to be driving whatever speed I feel like and got not tickets yet, but I've read online I should have. |
The handling model is still far from perfect, but it's a big improvement compared to their previous truck game series.
and for the various parts;
Acceleration: Some trucks feels overpowered, while some feels underpowered.
Braking: Too slow reaction. If you slam your brakes in a big truck, lots of shit happens. In this game it feels like you're just doing a slow smooth stop.
Steering: Seems to be ok. No special input on that.
Weight: I can't really feel the weight. Theres not really that much of a change when you're driving with or without trailer. And all trailers feels the same. In real life the difference is insane compared to this game.
Clutch/Transmission: I played some in full manual mode (range-splitter), and I'm wondering wtf they were smoking when they made the clutch and transmission behave as it does. When starting from standstill, you pretty much have to put it in 1st, and rev the shit outa it. Keep it in auto mode. Atleast it's not that bad there, even if that could be improved too.
rain: Not much difference in physics when raining. It gets a bit slippery, but nothing special. Use your motor brake in a turn, and it will throw your ass out a bit, which is nice. Happens IRL too.
There are a few annoying things, but so far I'd say it's a really nice game.
The truck models got some design fails.. Not everything is as it is IRL etc.
And I'd like to see a stronger light output from headlights. I can barely see oncoming cars at night, since it looks like they're driving with a lit up match in their headlights.
The light output from the vehicle you're driving is amazing tho. I especially like the feature where more extra lights = It lights up more at night.
What I'd like to see more of:
Spoiler kits should not be part of the cab. There should be a option to add it to any cab size just as IRL.
More engine brake/retarders. The default sucks stinky donkey balls. I wanna buy a real VEB+ for my vulva. Not have a shitty 1st gen VEB.
More option for the interior. I wanna place a table on my dash. I wanna have a coffee machine in my cab. I wanna select where I want to place the closets. I wanna Select if I want 1 or 2 beds. I want to select which closet I put my microwave in. I want custom interior with lots of fancy lights and speakers and TVs.
I want the option to have 6x2. I don't give a shit about 6x4 (tandem) or 6x2/4 (pusher). I want real tag axle.
And I want the option to change/add more rear lights. Add worklights on the sides and rear. And under the spoiler kit.
And a bunch more, but I have to play more now, so I can't write.
I hate you.

what i liked the most in this game is that the progress isn't too slow as the others sims and even the long drives ain't too slow, so it won't bore you.

The radio/stream feature present in this game needs to be present in every fucking title. If these guys can implement it on a shoestring budget, there's no excuse for it not to be in other games. Extremely well done apart from the fact that you have to use the menu to change stream/song, and there's a slight pause when switching streams.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I can't seem to get my streams to show unfortunately, only the ones the developer implemented. A very cool feature though. Loving the game so far.

Well..I had some issues at first too...
stream_data[64]: "http://pub1.sky.fm:8/sky_pianojazz|SKY.fm - Piano Jazz (96k)"
First, make sure the bracketed number in stream_data is sequential to the stream before it (assuming you've got other streams listed in there), otherwise it breaks everything.
As for the stream URL itself - don't go off the website. Open it up in winamp / media player and get the URL from there (view file info). Also, you might have to truncate some crap off the URL depending on how the source site is.
Took a bit of fiddling but I managed to get all the streams I listen to implemented, and they work great. I don't think there's a way to get the passworded (premium) higher bit-rate streams that some sites offer working with it though.

Don't forget for the livestreams the file you need to edit is: live_streams.sii and it is located at: Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2
(Just making sure they got all the info, you never know who got that info or not)
