Why the fuck they add HD textures to every update? Just make a separate release of HD textures and another one just for update. Jeez.

Well, xDelta's not always the best option.

That tool, while very efficient, has no "folder" mode which means you're supposed to use a commandline for every new/modified file.
It's ok when you have a very small amount of files that were modified, like in this case or for Torchlight 2 (4 existing files modified : 120Mb for Theta vs 1.1Gb for Reloaded).

But when hundreds of files are touched, it's a pain unless you're willing to write a custom script that will :
- build a list of all the new/modified files and create the diff files for all of them
- create checksums for every new/modified files
- create a batch file that'll check and patch all the files on the user-end installation
- verify the checksums after everything has been completed

I can understand one not willing to do that.

Here's another example.
I compared Borderlands 2 v1.0.0 (SR) against the v1.1.2 (SR - including all DLCs) :
- 5336 new/modified files (a pain for the checksums)
- Update 4 + Update 5 + crack = 1,92Go
- diff files = 1,95Go
- diff files compressed = 1,79Go (not worth the work)

Well there is no scene rule where a group is required to redistribute a patch strictly in form of already patched files intended to be unpacked over the existing files, anyway. Especially since most Steam releases (custom installers made by groups) already fit into the "homemade iso" category because of the nature of Steam game distribution method, but it gets tolerated since there is no other way for Steam games distributed only by download.

So if the scene tolerates this kind of packaging, I see no problem using differential patching method, as long as it is not done lame by a .bat file. They can make an InnoSetup or NSIS patch installer which will extract small files, call xdelta in the background and clean up temporary files when the job is done, so that everything looks professional.

Well that lame .bat file in patch 1.6 cleans up the temporary files very nicely for me. Very Happy

And my vote goes to... I don't care. None of those is a story content DLC, just stupid vehicles and new "fancy" clothes. And here I was dreaming of getting to vote for the next story expansion :\

Yeah I guess they are already set with what they're doing for the story and now they are mostly giving the fans a way to choose which of the two smaller DLC (already existing judging by Steam.) will be released next.

What's so funny? Those are chinese zompires, they feed on spiritual energy.

I'm looking forward to killing Big Smile Lee again. Even if it seems his spirit possesed Jackie's body (hair is definitely the same and it would be a predictable twist).

Edit: Damn, Big Scar Wu, not Smile Lee. Well, I'll still kill him gladly Smile

Use a resolution/refresh rate that's in your monitor's range.

R7 2700x @4GHz / MSI B450 Tomahawk / beQuiet! Dark Rock 4 / 32GB @3000 MHz / MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z / Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Western Digital 1TB / Fractal Design Meshify C Dark / SuperFlower Leadex Gold 650W / DELL whatever 27 inch IPS

@kumkss

It's excellent Smile The port is great, really looks amazing on the PC, the keyboard and mouse controls are a bit dodgy though.. it's definitely made for a controller. I only use the mouse for gunfights, which are few and far between. I prefer the game to Saints Row and the story is better than in GTA4.

@Speed

Aye, that's where I got mine from and I've not seen it cheaper anywhere else. It's not region locked either Smile

Yeah, needs time to get used to the controls (especially while driving) on keyboard+mouse, but it's a good game, well optimized and worth your time if you like GTA-like games.
