Indeed, Deus Ex: Human Revolution wins in so many areas. Now, if they've done the non-lethal approach for the bosses, like Dishonored did, the game would be almost perfect.

Tech! I love me some steampunk just as much as the next man ... but nothing compares to cyberpunk and/or futuristic dystopias with grimy weather, high tech hackables and plentiful gadgets Besides, as far as storytelling goes - and excluding the "room with four buttons" (grr...) - DXHR wins hands down. |
Exactly. Tech, the atmosphere, dialogues, the characters, the music (!)..damn we have to wait so much until we can play something like that.

I finished Dishonored yesterday and with DXHR in the back of my mind, Dishonored feels like a 8/10 game. Still very, very good, but nothing to piss my pants about.
Had it been released a year and a half ago, I would have probably given it 9,6/10 and written numerous posts in this thread how it is the best stealth game since Splinter Cell 3.
The game lacks NPC interactions during the missions. The sections in the pub are great, but each time you leave for a mission you know that your next two to three hours will only consist of choking guards until you reach the target. DXHR always had surprises in store and you never knew what to expect, but Dishonored becomes routine halfway through the game (except for the party mission).
Still, this is mere nitpicking, the game is great overall.

Deus Ex stealth wasn't that good, really. And the combat was repetitive. Not to mention press-the-button-something-awesome-happens Typhoon BS. And that half the upgrades were useless.
And button-pressing ending, lol, brb quicksaving and pressing each button for the video, wow CONSEQUENCES !

Deux Ex HR stealth was veeeeery good. And yeah the combat was kind of a weak point, bit still more diverse than in most modern games.

I prefer this to Human Revolution. Yes, I enjoyed the future-tech aspect much more in Human Revolution - But in terms of actual gameplay Dishonored is simply a better game.

Definitely, imagine if Deus EX stayed in first person all the time and made it as good as Dishonored with the movement and combat. Hope they will do that for 4. And more open levels like Dishonored with more paths and no boss battles.

I disagree that Dishonered has more open levels, the areas are relatively small. There are just more vertical possibilities.

I'm thinking of getting this via cddiski. I know about having to activate the game through VPN but on here http://www.gamekeys4u.net/content/20-download-play-region-blocked-steam-games it says that you have to start the game via vpn first, and then follow those steps to play it without. It says about having to add a non-steam game via the exe. Will it still show up as an official game on Steam or a Non-Steam game?
If that makes sense?

quickloading loads the latest quicksave. If you die it loads the latest autosave or quicksave, depending on which one is the newest.

Weepers count as kills, the only things you can kill that don't count against you are dogs and rats. All humanoid kills contribute to Chaos .. and the only way to reduce that is to stop killing. Clear a mission or two without killing people to reduce Chaos.

i would just go for the high chaos playthrough in your situation and do a low chaos playthrough next time
some things and characters change with high vs. low chaos
and the gameplay is quite different with lethal and non-lethal styles
