I have the THETA release and I was getting the same problem. I fixed it by reinstalling the game and immediately restarting my computer.

Just press shift + alt ingame.

this game causes me to go into a nearly unbreakable loop of:
-play for a few minutes
-rage
-bong rips
-cigarette
-fist full of tiny halloween candy bars
-repeat

It's like a mix between Drive and Falling Down, only with some kind of primitive planning that I always forget to do since I often go killing spree forgetting about the consequences of my actions  . It's bloody (literally) good though |
