we have 4.21 cfw, tons of new game fixes released every day, appldr keys being decrypted and much more since lv0 keys leaked. yeah... nothing fruitful...

Is it possible to backup every account and save file in my ps3 (with comgenie's manager I assume)?
I want to format the hdd and restore them after.

If it is, can someone point me to what directory they're in?

They are under home directory in the root, but I don't remember if you can just copy them back after formatting.
Ps3 does have a backup system of its own though, you should use that.

I thought it did a full backup. I'll see if I can backup just the account and saves.

Make sure the UPDATE.PUP is renamed to PS3UPDAT.PUP

Just a little word of warning at the moment if you try replacing your hard drive after updating to 4.21CFW.

As it's spoof to 4.25 if you put in a new hard drive, which I have done as I took out the larger one I had to use elsewhere for the time being whilst the PS3 wasn't in use, I only realised that this morning so decided to put it back into my PS3.

Of course the PS3 is asking to for the firmware again but it's asking for 4.25, the PS3 will find the 4.21CFW but it will not install, it will come back with a message 'data corrupt'.

I tried several times even with new downloads of the file and different USB Sticks / External Drives but same result.

I then put my orignal hard drive back in, all up and running fine and tried to update the firmware (reinstalling 4.21 CFW) and it came back with the same data corrupt message.

So until a a later CFW is released, I'm stuck upgrading my HDD for the time being.

It would seem so, at least for me.. Unless someone else does the same I'm guessing it's either just my system or devices but I doubt that.

Yeah true if its spoofed then it will ask for the latest firmware but the ps3 just thinks that custom firmware is a lower firmware so thats why it wont install.

A spoof isn't enough to trick it either.
