There's also ANOTHER option; aldo's "PS3Updates" tool. Just type the name or TitleID of the game you have, set which CFW you're running, then click "verify" and it will give you downloadable PKGs for all the updates to that game -- as well as telling you what FW they require.

I'm afraid you'll have to try and source a download though, Aldo got tired of all the drama and removed the links from his site Sad

Yes, to be completely "safe" you should update the firmware from Recovery Mode and as much as I can tell; as long as you haven't downgraded in the past then you won't need to run QA toggle.

Thanks for the quick response.

E3 jumped the gun, turns out their release is broken and problems were reported, so it was deleted for now.

It looks like E3 sent the announcement email too soon as they quickly pulled all info and so Gary deleted the news.

Has anyone tried running the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy? I loaded it up and it starts to load out of the XMB and then blackscreens. Is it possible it just needs a disc in the drive, or only can be run off internal? I only ask since everything else is working perfectly.

EDIT: Nevermind! I figured it out...it just required a disc in, and had to be launched via the disc instead of the App_HOME thing.

Got my console updated to Rogero 4.21 CFW and all my games are working fine except those PSN games Duplex released a while ago that were signed for the 3.55 CFW.

I have tried to resign the eboots for a couple of the games and got them working but a few just won't go. I get an error "could not read eboot.elf" & "Could not find keyset for SELF"

I also did some research and found posts talking about a act.dat file. With what little I understand I can't piece this together. Is it possible to resign these games to work or did Duplex do something special to get them to work in the first place..? I have tried to install updates for a couple of the games but when I launch them it tells me I have to sign in to the PSN store and acquire a license.

I've got three of them to boot and they work fine whereas before they would give me an error message immediately when launched from the XMB.

A E3 news is up again Razz

Quote:

PLEASE NOTE:

This news was posted yesterday but due to reported problems it was pulled, since then the CFW has been updated.

You still need to be on CFW v3.55 or OFW v3.55 to install this new CFW v4.30 from the E3 Team.

all CFWs so far released (rogero and E3) are just hacked together versions of BlueDisc FW. will probably be awhile until we get a proper brick free, feature rich cfw.

they really need to resolve resigning issue, or it will become very tiresome very fast to resign every single thing with each cfw upgrade.

It's true. Hack conversions will brick if you update to 4.30, the only safe DEX models that can be updated are official DEX machines and ones converted properly using Math's partially-leaked exploit.

Is there a tool, which can pack these EBOOT fixes files (the releases from unSANE) into a PKG format to be installed in the right directory?

I'm glad you, Intel_NVIDIA and Jack still don't understand a single fucking thing about what concerns some of us had and still have. Wasn't about leaking, wasn't about getting newer CFW or not. It's like talking to a brick wall though, so I'll give up Smile

And newer firmwares still haven't been exploited like some thought they would.
