Spiderman (the new one) 6/10 - there were some funny parts, but for the most of the time I wasn't impressed...

Altho Andrew Garfield is totally adorable Very Happy So that was a plus xD

Nice idea, but the whole movie feels like a stretched out gimmick.

WELLLLLllll, i watched that new spiderman movie finally...

6/10

ima just start off by saying ehh... another origin story. i think thats a big part of why i didnt think the movie was THAT great. it just takes over an hour to really start, and this is why im not a fan of origin movies especially if i already have SEEN a previous origin story. yes i know its a reboot and they wanted to change certain things about him in this film (web shooters, etc), and establish the new actors, but that doesnt change the fact it was a very slow building story where it was very much been-there-done-that.

also, parker was a douche for the first half. i mean a BIG one. i know the story is all about growth and change and blah blah blah, but damn he was really insufferable for the first half, which made it kinda unpleasant to watch.

thirdly, the whole teen romance thing... yeah ok fine its part of the story, but it was a bit of a snooze... unavoidable perhaps, but this kinda stuff belongs more in a twilight flick or something, not a decent action film.

THE GOOD!!

this film actually gets me excited about the NEXT one. this film wasnt great, but i can see the potential, especially in the director and the actors, now that this awful and shitty 'origin' crap is over with. i really want to see what they can do now that they can finally tell a full proper story next time

the last third... maybe last half... was very enjoyable. the action choreography was great, and i thought the whole wounded spiderman/crane bit was actually handled really well... felt powerful without feeling cheesy, and really makes me excited to see what these guys can do with the next film

also that gwen chick. fuck yeah. kirsten dunst can fuck off, she was terrible and looked terrible compared to this chick, she was fantastic Very Happy i really liked her, especially as a character. she wasnt a screaming whinging bitch like mj was in raimi's films.

but all in all, not a film id really be all that fussed about watching again, and its a bit of a let-down given the huge amount of hype this received. not a bad effort though - i really didnt HATE it or anything, it was an enjoyable enough movie... but if they'd trimmed it down to 90 minutes, it would have been much better.

and where the fuck did he magic those sewing skills from! they spend an hour developing him as a teenage douchebag, show him making a shitty PLAGIARISED mask, and then 5 seconds worth of him making something it would take a talented fashion designer probably a full month!

I like the other ones way more. At least Emma Stone was in it and the movie had a superb soundtrack.

Amazing spiderman 6.5/10 - Decent, but didn't manage to keep my attention for long. Although that's generally the case for all superhero movies for me.

Ruby Sparks - 8/10.

I was quite skeptical when I started watching but I was pleasantly surprised. A great movie, with a very good plot and acting. And it has some good laughs as well, but above all it makes you think. A good surprise. Very Happy

Skyfall- 8/10

Beautifully shot and acted, very good pacing, but the story itself was "meh", and the plot "twists' could have been seen from miles away. Still a very good movie though.

Not good enough, especially the ending.

Predictable plot, probably suitable for teenagers in love or something.

I agree with the first 2 things, but I didnt like the pacing - it felt disjointed and I was rarely drawn in. Mostly due to the story was not a James Bond story :/
And while I love Bardem, he could have been used so much better. It felt so contrieved it hurt and his plans was silly.

I loved Casino Royale and Craig there, but Skyfall fails for me.
Later that same afternoon I watched You only live twice and had a blast with it.
Now thats James Bond - and it had the best scene ive ever forgotten - at one time James Bond gets a note inside a submarine that is the MI6 base there, directly infront of the boss, he burns the note he had just gotten; so it didnt fall into the wrong hands ofcourse -
But come on in a MI6 submarine Laughing

Well, after searching the forums, I decided to watch the latest Spoderman with my gf this afternoon.
Good choice, it was A LOT better than Raimi's movies, without fucking Tobey Maguire and Kirsten "BITCH" Dunst. The actors were a lot better, the story was a lot darker and not too cheesy, it was a nice twist the director chose. Definitely a good movie, but a bit too long, should've ended 20 minutes sooner. Both the lead roles did good, Garfield fella acted more than decent, and Emma Stone was 2849829849284928492849284X better than Dunst. They had those WTF?! moments, they were pretty enjoyable and funny, they seemed to bond really well, it was a good pick. I'm gonna rewatch it with pleasure, as the true first Spiderman movie, not that bullshit from Raimi. And I can't wait for the sequel Very Happy.
I'll rate it 8/10, for being a bit too long. Otherwise, it would've been a 9er, or even a 9.5er. But that could just be me, with my tragic taste for superhero movies Laughing.

Saw Skyfall last night, and I loved it. Very well made, a little funny, great cinematography.. and Bardem is a fucking great actor (yes, we all know), and fits the role he has perfectly.

The movie wasn't rushed, it took it's time, went all over the world, had great action etc.

So yeah, a rewatch when the Bluray come out, for sure Smile

Skyfall 7.5/10

The first two thirds of the movie were fantastic. Great characters and wonderful locations. Beautifully shot, great music, etc.

But after a certain character is encountered and his plan is set into motion, the plot holes start popping up and the story goes downhill and ends up underwhelming and predictable.

That's a real shame, because if it had kept up the pace and stayed consistent - it would have been the best Bond of all time. As is, it's definitely up there with the best of them - but falls short of true greatness.

But I LOVED that it was character driven - and that they made Bond a more human character. A good and believable balance - all things considered.

The Amazing Spider-Man - 6,5/10

I for one quite liked it, although I didn't find it as good as Raimi's Spidey. It's a more light-hearted version and closer to the comics, but Webb failed to expand the characters in order to not make them look flat and generic, and the actors did not help in this regard.

CGI was decent for the most part, but some scenes with the Lizard were hilariously bad. Overall, it's a watchable popcorn flick but also a wasted opportunity to bring something new that hasn't been seen before.

I did read the comics and the movie is closer to them if compared to Raimi's Spider-man, but didn't really like the direction and acting. Still, not a bad movie. Just..well, a bit flat. IMO! Razz

You'll get no argument from me Smile I thought Garfield (Razz) played a great Parker *and* a great Spider-Man, it felt like a comic book. I also LIKE origin stories, so the fact that an HOUR of the TWO HOUR movie was dedicated to origin and backstory? That I liked. A lot. I just hope they continue well for the sequels, if any, and that they hire someone else to do the CGI ..... because The Lizard was just hilarious and not for the right reasons.

Total Recall 2012 8/10

I liked it,good action scenes and nice CGI overall. Different to the Arnie movie sure, but if you take it as it is,it's good. Besides you can't go wrong with Kate Beckinsale or Jessica Biel. Very Happy
But I knew there was a reason why there was so much screentime for Kate, director being her husband and all. Razz

Shouldn't they have call this movie Total Light Flares? Most of the movie was like that, besides Kate, Biel and light flares haven't seen anything else. (Hey there Mr. WW)
