I have 4 PSN games out of 7 that I can not fix. I was able to fix 3 but these four "will not work."
I have followed your instructions to the letter and have spent way more than a few mins on them to try and get them working on this 4.21 cfw. They of coarse worked fine in 3.55 but not on 4.21
I can list the names of the games if that will get me some help but if you just signed 20 games with no problem, then the games I have you couldn't/haven't tried to sign yet. I have even grabbed multiple different downloads of the resigning tool thinking that might be my problem. Everyone is the same. It gives an error and it will not sign the eboot. I posted the errors earlier in this thread, about a page back.
Is it possible that some games can't be signed over..? |
what games are they? just to see if any of them are one of the ones i have done. lets see if we can get those working.

For one, take the spoof off. There have been brick reports of people trying to update to 4.x CFW with a FW spoof enabled. Since you're having trouble upgrading from XMB, try running Toggle_QA first. Still no go? Then drop to Restore Mode (Restore *NOT* Service) and install the FW from there, as recommended.

Well...umm... you take the spoof off the same way you put it on If you're running a standard KMEAW then it will be 3.55, but since you said it's spoofed to 3.60 then that means you had to have ran or installed SOMETHING to put it that way. Right? Well simply do the same again to take it off
Secondly, toggle_QA is easy; https://dl.dropbox.com/u/64707444/.../toggle_qa.pkg Grab that, install it via "Install Package Files" as normal, run the "Rebug toggle QA" app that appears on XMB, the screen will go black and you'll hear a beep and the machine will restart back to XMB That will toggle the QA flag on and should make upgrading a bit safer.
Thirdly, enter the recovery menu like this;
a. Turn off PlayStation 3.
b. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
c. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
d. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
e. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
f. The Recovery menu will pop up.
Or, thanks to Condorstrike and PS3News, you can install and run this; http://tortuga-cove.com/images/stories/condor/Condor%20Updater/Condor%20Updater.pkg
That will put you in recovery mode. Personally I'd recommend using the power off/on trick, rather than relying on a homebrew app .. but it's your call, whatever you feel comfortable with. Once you're in the recovery menu, choose "System Update" and the PS3UPDAT.PUP you have on your USB stick should begin to install.
Hopefully

Hopefully it helped enough to get you on your feet, so good luck! I'm thinking perhaps you used the old "3.60 Version Spoofer" app, if so it should still be on your XMB GAME section - just run it again and it should offer the choice to remove spoof --- as far as I know. If you're still struggling simply download and install the Rebug 4.11 spoof app, then remove the spoof using that.
I'm not 100% sure on the spoof causing bricks, just that there have been reports and the first piece of advice is to remove the spoof. It may not even be causing any issues, but egh... better safe than sorry right?

Oh, only just saw this -- if it helps; I've never gotten over 11MB/s even over wired connections. It's usually 3-4MB/s over wireless as well. |
Though ps3 is gigabit you motherboard should also be gigabit even, send throttle speed

The Punisher No Mercy
Commando 3 Wolf of the Battlefield
Worms
Crash Commando
I was able to successfully sign
Splinter Cell HD
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow HD
Infamous Festival of Blood
None of these would boot and they do now. The four at the top I've tried multiple times and no luck. If they signed for you let me know what you did.
Thanks for offering to help.

I get around 30MB/s or more using direct ethernet connection with the pc. Only with a crossover cable though.

If you get an error it will be fine, it just means it won't install from XMB. QA_toggle your machine (just to be on the safe side) and then drop to Recovery Menu and install from there.

Well my older PS3s at best get between 10-11MB/s but my newer PS3 gives me my full connections which is 19MB/s I've not tried on wireless since trying first time on previous PS3s as it took ages to copy / download something over WiFi I never bothered with it anymore.
