The story looks like Silent Hill 3 + Extras (a BOY) + Script Change (uses stuff from SH1 Movie like characters)
Atleast we know it's Silent Hill 3...i mean,LOOK,it's HEATHER...but the change is Vincent (the "extra")..and that James (SH2 Game) is THERE ALIVE...so this is a huge mix tween SH1 Movie and SH3 Game..
Hopefully this is better than the first movie (first one's only interest was Cybil,the only human character from the GAME and Pyramid Head (also from the game..))

Well I think the first film was fantastic, one of my favourite game>movie adaptations since it had its own story and didn't take fan-loved canon and completely fuck with it
I'm glad it's a direct sequel too as, while the games are great for having self-contained plots, I think the movie format suits a central storyline. Definitely looking forward to this!
Im not that much of a fan of the first movie , SH is one lonely and creepy adventure for the most part , it's not about tons of ppl trying to survive , kinda ruins the true atmosphere of the games.. First movie was OKish for some stuff in that universe but far from fantastic for me. I will watch this ofc , but I don't expect anything amazing...

As far as I've seen, it was pretty much universally loved amongst people (and not critics) even my MUM loved it It seems that only the movie critics didn't like it -- but then, when do they ever like game<>movie adaptations?
"They" being movie critics, you know... the words I used in the same sentence? But egh, I still think there are a few enjoyable adaptations but SH is definitely the best.

No you're not. I loved the weird isolated atmosphere, not knowing whether you were in a different plane or in a nightmare and what was going on.
Hmm, I've been reading duff reviews about this and I'm just hoping it's because they're dumb critics. Some of the loudest criticism I've read is "the plot is too convoluted if you're not familiar with the games" >_< I'm still really looking forward to this regardless.
