How can that be, since it has 4GB of RAM! The dude at the store told me: more RAM, more power! And I already have an external HDD, but will it help if I buy another? Plus, my Internet connection is pretty fast, but could that be it?

have quite similar laptop specs and game works fine so problem is probably on your side and not in crack

Does the game give any minidump info?

I'm not good with reading those (Don't have the proper software.) but they can give some pointers on what the error is such as a specific .dll file causing the crash or such. Smile

C:\Users\Jonas\AppData\Local\CrashDumps
(In my case, but usually it's the same across Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 minus the username and possibly the drive letter depending on where the user folder is located.)

Or does the crash report itself point to something?


EDIT: I mean there must be something causing it to crash no?
(Well of course there is but finding out exactly what is difficult, especially if there are multiple causes.)

yes.

usualy when there is no crashdump it means there is electricity problem (not always).
dump will show you most of the time video driver problem or audio or els,but most of the time from the days i used to support pc's it was nvidia drivers and audio.

in general it is good to have the option to read it,it is just symbols and dump reader to install (if i remember well)

There are no crash dumps, error logs, reports, messages or anything of any sorts. The game when launched, shows something like a CD spinning on the corner, then stops and right when it starts (or should start) to show the legal texts, it exits (crashes) to the desktop.

Are you using some overlay like MSI Afterburner?
(I use FRAPS myself and that works plus the SMAA plugin but sometimes there can be compatibility issues.)

Also are you forcing something in the Nvidia / Ati driver control panel?
(I usually always enforce 16x AF but that's normally fully compatible, some AA methods can be tricky though albeit the game should still run but might have display errors or poor performance.)

Also are you using SLI or Crossfire?
(That would be quite unfortunate if that was the problem, both have gone a long way and are much improved but again there are some compatibility issues from time to time albeit mostly with poor or even negative performance scaling.)

I don't really know what else to suggest, weird problem. Smile
(The crack was copied correctly I assume, along with the modified CloakNTEngine.dll file.)

Yes, all the files were indeed copied correctly (buddha.dll, CloakNTEngine.dll, SKIDROW.ini, steam_api.dll and Steamclient.dll).

Awesome, can confirm that this fixes the crashing to desktop issue myself and many other people are having.

These two are not quite hunting games as such, well at least not when compared to say "The Hunter" or a more serious title, they're more on par with oh what was those games called again?

EDIT: Ah right the "Carnivores" series. Very Happy

yep for SP Hunting games - Hunting Unlimited 2010 is the best Smile

I kinda loved Carnivores back in the days Very Happy This Expedition is kinda streamlined hunting game and Dangerous hunts is just Cod with animals
