not a bad game after all, in its own way.
it looks even hard to master in hard races.

found just some "bah" about it:

- game seems to reward tight lines on turns, even when theres grass or dirt on it Laughing
- police units count on number, like a horde of tie fighters going around you. no quality pursueing, just number. police blocks sux.
- dont actually like this new trend in driving games about finding cars around the world... (even new forza has this)

is it me or the game "pauses" from time to time? (stucks litterally for about 2 seconds)

Did my first Most Wanted race, and damn... the acceleration the opponent used to make everytime they got behind. Laughing Would catch up on me in a flash even if at a few dozen meters apart at second place.

win7x64
any downloaded executable i don't 100% trust goes in a sandbox where it can install and run until i deem it deleteworthy
i have all my games in separate sandboxes, and steam in one huge one
i don't want random files all over my system
matter of principle

anyway, it looks like it was my firewall causing the pop-out to happen, since it's constantly trying to go online

The only car games i have deeply invested in and are interested to me are story driven games.

So my question is.. how good is the main story if it even has one? e.g. the original MW, underground
Or is it more like a burnout paradise kind of story?

This is the future of computing. Virtualization. Soon, with almost transparent virtualization performance, a VM per game/crack/Internet would be a viable solution. Smile

My frame-rate bounces around so much it's more or less impossible to enjoy this. Tough to race when FPS plummets from 60 to 40 during certain segments etc. And an SLI profile (AFR2 does jack shit) is nowhere to be seen. Sad

Gave it a try, maybe something that can be fun once in a while. Not a big racing game fan.

One thing that really bugs me is the Input Lag. Im using my 360 controller and man, feels unresponsive and i feel like im crashing alot because of this and not my shitty skills.

Played a bit more, absolutely hate it.

Basically, you drive around, find a car, do the 4 races in that car to unlock all of the upgrades for it. Rinse and repeat for the 123 other cars. There's absolutely no sense of progression whatsoever in this game besides the Top 10 leader board. 20 minutes into the game I had finished all the races for a fully customizable Gallardo and had absolutely no desire to continue playing.

The police pursuits feel like they were added in the last week of development - absolutely no depth or fun to them. There are no hide spots, no destructible environment objects to get them off your trail in spectacular fashion (besides doing a mid air jump, even if you only clear the ground by a foot ). There's also no penalty for getting busted.

Loved MW. Loved Burnout: Paradise City. Hate this soulless, generic piece of trash.

Yeah thats what Criterion games have become Laughing
It started around Burnout Paradise. (which was still good for its time, because back then open city was a novelty)
Codemasters went a similar path..
And after every race you get awarded with all kinds of bullshit you dont need, that seems to be only way they can keep stupid gamers motivated to play that POS.

I liked NFS:HP, mostly because of the great tracks/environments but it was suffering from the same generic lack of soul.

Which brings me to my question: Does this game have any other environments than that stupid city?
I'm not really interested in spending 30 hours driving on rectangular roads between square brown blocks of concrete. Oh whats this? I think I saw a tree or two!

It's the game, I felt the exact same thing.

Already shift+deleted the game though, I'll pass on this.
