Yeah this game is a serious improvement in every aspect I can think of. Very impressive stuff.
Also in this day and age where all we see are modern military shooters this feels so different it's really refreshing.

Did I play the same game? It was pretty good up until the end, holy fuck... ;p The final "boss" was cleared with one push of RT? WTF?

Is it safe to go online on live and play Halo 4?
MS banned some accounts a while back.

I wouldn't risk going online until the game is officially out, MS go ban crazy where Halo is concerned.

I'd say no. The iMars version doesn't verify, most likely a bad rip. I'd wait for a new release.

it's hard to know wether that can be trusted ? do they gaurantee that it's verified against a bonified retail copy or is it just verified against itself ?

Well it had to patch the DMI and SS, so it's not verified against itself.

Would I have to play the previous games (I only played Halo 1) to understand what's going on in this one? I doubt the story will be baffling, but I still like to know what's happening.

not really. Halo have really shitty story. You can certainly skip 2, odst, reach.
play 3 and 4 (tho 3 is a shitty game. reach is better)
