You would have to look somewhere to know what's happening either way, how else would you expect to get information? Smile

Twitter seems to be the fastest way to get some quick-info out, so why not...
EA does have a lot of twitter accounts though, so it can get a bit messy.

Had to do this 4 times in the last a month or two. Apparently someone had contacted EA about it, and they said it's an ongoing issue or something like that Smile

The whole origin thing is still quite a mess. A few days back, when I tried to get support from the EA page, it showed me this old support page, where some links didn't work at all. I had to go to the origin page, since that one had some newer links.
At one point there were about 3 different places where you could change your account info, and all of them allowed to review/edit different amounts of information. Even now you still can't get access to your profile options from some EA pages... like the origin store page.

Considering how much talk there is coming from them about the "digital" future for PC, and their amazing efforts in adapting to it, it sometimes seems like EA is not even trying.

just tried this, but to no avail. I open the awc.dll and change the 85 to 84 in the 18534 offset, but nothing. Origin still starts.

edit: actually the offset in 18534 is E8

do i change that to 84 ? (saw this on some youtube clip, but they say "change it from 85 to 84 ... but there is no 85 lol).

Best not to login to origin (unless you plan to play something else). It auto logs you in when you start BF3, much faster that way.

Dare I say it, kinda like CQ more than AK Very Happy Problem with AK is that the flags are sooo far away and with that biggest map ever you can't even get tank up there as they don't have horsepower to do it in less than half a round.

Mostly it feels like wasted points getting 1 kill in 10mins, where as you get 30 kills in 10mins on CQ. Not that there is any point for more rank. But not really DICE faul, it's the damn snipers. Half of enemy are snipers on some Alborz Mountain top = nothing to kill. 128 players there could be a different story or I just have to do BF2142 tactics. Get a jeep/transport helo and go from flag to flag.

But they sure are pretty and kinda nice breather from small maps. Oh forgot DICE Y U No???? put tank on every flag? Either you spawn at base (far far away in another kingdom) and drive back to somewhere where there is action or you surf around with jeeps until that bird in the sky gets you Razz

Like I mentioned in the MoF topic it really is a shame that this engine will probably never being used along with a good game... not by EA and not by anyone else since apparently it's "too complicated" for us PC crowd Neutral

Well they are not letting anyone else (outside of EA) to use the engine, so if anything is coming out, it will be from EA, which is kinda limiting.

Considering that they are using it for DA3, I suppose we can expect the next Mass Effect to do this as well. ME in Frostbite could have been really great, especially ME3, due to all the "universe at war thing". The grand fight for Earth barely even felt like a skirmish with the way Bioware did it...

you cant. Just find an empty server that allows for 1 player to start the round.

Yep haven't finished ME3 yet (I will..eventually) but the UE3 sadly wasn't exactly well implemented, probably because of a mix between laziness and console limitations. With the Frostbite 2 surely the animations would have been much smoother, and the cinematic special effects more involving like you mentioned. Though as always talent>>>engine: if the level designers suck, choosing a better engine doesn't necessarily mean having a better looking game. Razz

Exactly, those are two great examples Smile Mirror's Edge deserves to be mentioned too.

If you compare these games with Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, Turok or even Medal of Honor 2010 it's even clearer. Razz Laughing

I suppose that's a fair point on the engine not being the most important part. But so far most of UE games all felt kinda limited to me when it came to grand outdoors. It would still feel like you are in a corridor or some enclosed space quite often. A bit flat too... not so much detail to the terrain.

I think Bulletstorm actually had one of the better implementations of UE for outdoors. Certainly felt a bit more alive than most other games.
