He is. Dont count the EU and USA to much. In most countries a private backup of your original disc to prevent your original getting destroyed is allowed. In the EU and USA its also allowed but the laws there say that your not allowed to use Tools/Cracks or what ever to bypass a copyprotection used. In some EU countries f.e. france and italy protection using DPM analysis of media to copyprotect CDs is forbidden on movie DVDs already and in france there are actually some processes against a publisher called MC2 to forbid use of DPM protection mechanis for games too. As far as i know MC2 actually checks with starfroce if they can exchange from starfrce pro to starforce pro active so that they dont need DPM mechanism anymore but still have a full protected exe. Pro active works with a serial generated/activated for 1 specific system and the protected files are as strong protected as with normal starforce.

Even if it's allowed, a lawyer has the right to challenge the law. So any company can hire a good lawyer, and convince a judge to open a trial, and restrict dt4 devel team from releasing the product until after the trial, thus effectively delay them, not to mention cost dt4 devel team tons of money and legal fees. Now imagine the company sue dt4 team in every country where dt4 devel team can sell the product to, the legal fee needed is enough to force dt4 team out of business. This is the same tactic microsoft used to force Lindows change name to Linspire.

What the hell are you talking about? Seriously. There is no international legal system. There are no standards of law across more than one country. That shit may or may not be true in the country where YOU live, but guess what? It's not true in most countries, and it's not even true in the United States. Lawyers generally don't have special rights. It is generally not the decision of a judge whether something goes to trial. And guess what else? Daemon Tools' website is registered from the Cocos Islands, and is parked in Denmark. So if you have something meaningful to say about it, I suggest you head here before you make a further ass out of yourself: http://www.findlaw.com/12international/countries/
You are not a lawyer. You don't understand the nature of law. The worst problem SF (or anyone else) could realistically make for DT is if they threatened shareit.com with legal action, and shareit caved in and dropped DT as a customer. Big freaking deal.

A game worth playing is a game worth buying! Support the companies that produce quality software.
SCCT is an old game and can be bought in most countries already for cheaper prices sp god damn - go buy it. |

Dude, don't pretend that you know law.
There may not be the same law everywhere, but pretty much every country has some sort of copyright law. Of course, a judge has all the saying in weather a case goes to trial or not. A judge usully opens a pre-trial hearing. If the attorney successfully convince the judge the case is worthy of a trial, then the case is moved to trial. Else the judge can dismiss the case.
A lawyer has the right to challenge any law, or as some laywers call "interpret the law". Some time several laws can conflict one another, when this happens, it's the judge who decide which law has more precedence. for example, in US, the constitution has the highest precedence, any other law that conflict with the constitution is thrown out. A law that has been ruled unconstitutional is sent back to congress(different name in other country) for revision.
Say if dt4 developers are located in several countries, then all the company has to do, is to sue them in those countries.

Stop pretending that you are a lawyer when you are completly ignorant of the law.

Guys dont worry about it, DT4 will be released, the worst thing SF could do is to try and stop DT4.

i think some of the groups buy them to release them !!
and there are still people who really like games and buy them !!
but some people dont buy any game and thats not ok
they are hanging around here and ask for solution that they dont have 2 buy it..........
i dont buy every game, but the good ones............
