OK guys I started the beta. It looks absolutely fantastic maxed out. Works really smooth too.

but WHAT DO I DO IN THAT GAME ?!
I only played it for 15minutes. Choosed the purple futuristic guys and there was an ice level... Some bases... some guys flyping and running around. I've killed like 5 guys and it was kinda hard to know what to do out of the bat

Mi first word of advice. Press Esc, go to the social tab(the one with some people silhouettes on it) click on the Squad tab, and join the different squads until you find one that is working as a team. You can check where they are by opening the big map (M key), they appear in green color. With the F1 button you can instant spawn with your squad leader, but you can't use it all the time, so try to stick with them and respawn near them at all times.

This will make you game much more enjoyable and you will figure out quickly what the objectives are.

SOE promised a tutorial for beginners would be included by release.

I hope the game will update itself using steam instead of external launcher. If not there's no reason to have it on steam.

i think it will be like Tribes: ascend, starting the game on steam, will open the game launcher.

Okay so I've read through the wikis and get the general idea of the game...
Yet the certifications and stuff just seem a bit confusing to me.

It's great that there are so many, but its kind of difficult to figure out where you shouold be focusing on (as there is no real tutorial)

I enjoy playing as an infilatrator but wasnt even aware i can hack?
The majority of the hot spots is 100 people sat in a base constantly spawning trying to fend off an attacking team of 50+...
Seems a bit of a fuck fest.

I enjoy playing it and stuff but there doesnt really seem to be that much point to it?

Killing someone doesnt really feel rewarding as 2 seconds later he's back on the line trying to pick you off Smile

Maybe with hacking mechanic the game feels more useful?

Doesnt matter how you set yourself up or how you position yourself for an oncoming attack, 50 people running round a corner is a certain death Very Happy

If you dont play in an outfit you are missing 75% of the game. The remaining 25% is about killing ppl respawning 15 sec later Razz

Its coordinated attacks together with 100+ ppl where this game shine. If you want to get rewarded for killing one (1) enemy I suggest you check out this new hawt game just released, Call of Duty Black Ops II.

I think it will be like in Tribes: Ascend, where Steam is 100% optional. But I'll wait for confirmation

Awesome game for the most part. If/when you find a really good fight, it's a lot of fun. Also, there is almost no lag that I've seen, which is very impressive considering the scale. I don't know if it's P2W at all, but I really don't see a need to spend any money on this game, so being that it's free and friends play it, I can't really say anything negative about the game. It's fairly impressive to be honest.

Yeah, last night I was commenting to a friend how I was impressed by the improvements they have made to the graphics since the beta launched. The performance however, could still be better if they manage to get a better use of the GPUs, which is still sub-optimal (though It has improved a great deal in the last few months).

Well, you've got two more days to enjoy it. Once it's officially out on the 20th, and those massive Free-To-Play doors open, it's just going to be a nonstop slosh of ass-hattery.

They released another patch today which, once again, COMPLETELY changed the upgrade system for vehicles and their performance. 2 days before the beta is over, and 6 days before launch.

This game will be launching in an early beta state. Pretty shameful SOE.

Yeah I think the release is a bit earlier that it should've been but fortunately most of the really significant problems have already been solved Wink I just had another epic session tonight with my outfit. We weren't too many tooday (just a single squad of 12), but managed to capture a few bases during this short session Smile

The base capturing dynamics has been changed to a much better system with one of the latest patches, where the number of people actively guarding/attacking the bases now actually have an influence over the capturing progress. Also, in the case of some bases you have to first take a smaller adjacent compound where shield generators keep the main facility inaccesible until it gets taken and the generators destroyed.

I'm liking the scale of the game, the teamwork and multitude of ways to improve your character.

However, the shooting aspect of the game doesn't "click" with me. I'm not liking it at all.

That's why I play medic and instead of engaging in firefights I run around healing and reviving.

Taking part in large scale combat without actually firing your weapon can be pretty fun. Who knew?

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
