The more I play the more I become convinced this is one of the worst shooters of the last decade. Sad This game is SO bad! I just played that mission with the horses and it was like borderline experimental shit.

I wish the original IW was still around. The engine did get some upgrades, its inefficiencies were well hidden, the performance was terrific, and the games had fun action.

MW3 has terrible visuals with absolutely horrible coloring, BLOPS1 has terrible performance, and BLOPS2 is very unfocused/uneven in everything (from graphics, to narrative, to gameplay).

WTF

It's funny, the last truly enjoyable military arcade shooter for me was Homefront.. that everybody on hump and elsewhere despised it. Sad

That game WAS fun for me. Very Happy

Well, I finished it.

I'll probably get bashed for this, but the campaign wasn't that bad.
Most of the credit goes to Warfighter for that verdict. It managed to lower the bar for military shooters so much, that a game like Black Ops 2 rates as passable for me.

It's in no way an improvment for the series, the AI is nonexistent, and water guns have more recoil than the ones in the game.

I also didn't like the fact that Treyarch seems to think everyone remembers the story or characters from the previous installments, but the only thing I remember from the last Call of Duty is someone yelling MASON!!! every once in a while.

The music is straight out of a cheap porn. And that band thing at the end >_>

Oh well, back to XCOM

I kinda like the SP....

Guns have no recoil in the future, I guess they're so advanced...

And TBH this IS supposed to be an all-out action shooter, this isn't supposed to go for the realism factor like ArmA.

Just play it as it's supposed to be played, not how you want it to be.

Finally tried some missions, what can I say. Cowadoody really hasn't changed a bit Laughing

Same game, same (bad) graphics, same controls, same pseudofuckyea story, same scripted scenes, same 'badass' dialogues (you understand, dipshits?!1). And it's almost 2013..

Why am I even trying these games is beyond me, curiosity I guess.

but it will sell millions and people will love it!!"

Hell, I like it. Graphics are surprisingly good (tho lack some detail up close), sounds are better than in previous games, story is more entertaining.

It is actualyl good. Not like I expected Laughing

btw, Some missions are downright funny or awful like strategy missions but most stuff is good and future stuff is fantastic

As for no it is easily 8/10 game for me. Well.. maybe an enjoyable 7+. Will see

One more thing - Why in the world would anyone use fxaa when there is msaa available? Laughing
FXAA is good when it is the ONLY option. but paired with real forms of aa, it makes screen blurry. It's not the first game I see which have both FXAA and normal aa

It's call of duty, what would you expect?
It is simple and scripted but it is still entertaining and as far as COD goes, it feels somehow fresh.

The Antialiasing of this game does not really do much. FXAA doesnt count cause it blurs the image.
With 8xMSAA there are still tons of jaggies..I've injected SMAA now and its a lot better, but also gets slightly blurred.
I dont want to use lumasharpen on this game because it changes the graphics style too much.
I was wondering if there is some way to force real MSAA via nvidia inspector, and which compatibility profile to choose?

Framerate related questions:
Is there something wrong with the game's Vsync? If enabled the game slows down significantly. When disabled in game and enabled in the nvidia control panel it stays disabled..this is the first game that seems to be able to override the CP settings.
Also it does not seem to be triple buffered.
I deactivated both in-game vsync and CP vsync and forced d3doverrider triple buffering and vsync and now it runs optimal.

it looks like that without fxaa and msaa only x2. I don't feel like I need more

I would say that is an outstanding job for aa. Game is clear as water

SGSSAA should do the trick, but I'm not aware of the flags yet..

Altho, adding transparency AA along with MSAA would probably look good enough, you could try that out.

FXAA with 4x MSAA works pretty well. And the image is blurred but not horribly. IMO Razz

As I understand it no flags are needed anymore with the latest drivers. But I haven't tried it in a game yet.

I'd replace FXAA with SMAA any day. Much less blurry.
Guess you could otherwise "fix" it with LOD Bias though. Never tried LOD Bias + FXAA tho, only SGSSAA + LOD Bias (Dishonored).

Good antialiasing methods are kinda nullified by the constant vaseline filter (render?) which makes everything look washed out, though I wonder if it's possible to improve it with some SweetFX.

wow, i`m actually suprised how well multiplayer runs. they definitely improved over flawed pc release of black ops 1. its a nice suprise after previously bought original game - diablo 3 (most pathetic game launch on pc in few years)

there are few changes here and there, requires little getting used to. matchmaking is nice, the bad thing is that you cant specify servers by map (afaik) - on the other hand i`ll definietly avoid playing on the same 2-3 maps over and over again lol.

So, any working cracks around? Did SKIDROW fix their stuff or is it a failed crackfix repack after all? Laughing

I don't expect much from BLOPS2. I've seen CoDs since MW1 as little more than 5-hour-long movies to watch, toss away and never look back.

EDIT: Post number 888. Fuck year. Cool
