Well considering this is my rig at the moment:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
Gigabyte 965P-DS3
Nvidia GTS 450
4 GB of Cheap Memory @800 MHz(because the mobo doesn't support better)
A prehistoric almost 10 year old Seagate Barracuda with 320GB
An equaly prehistoric Samsung SyncMaster 940nw with a whopping 1400x900

Any PC from the last few years is fine with me xD

Yeah the biggest problem with GTA IV (aside from the terribad performance) was the complete lack of "depth" in terms of lighting, dusk and midday almost looked the same. Razz

game looks interesting, but i'm not that much, for me, to be hyped. Also the kind of 'blurred not full hd video' didn't help

i'll just see if it comes to pc, haven't even started playing Eflc yet

yep, tbogt plays like classic gta with all the over-the-top, goofy fun.
it was great to play it after the slow and sulky 4 that tried to be too serious.

luckily, judging from the new trailer, 5 seems to have the more light-hearted vice city vibe,
cant wait for it Very Happy

yeah, im getting a vga upgrade, maybe soon, so i might be able to play Eflc with that uber graphic mod. And since there is this huge backlog of games i haven't played..

also the original gta4 didn't leave me that hooked up to play the expandalones right away (in my old pc)

TLAD on the other hand.. Worst GTA I've played IMO & I've played pretty much everything, incl. GTA 1, London 61 & 69, LCS, VCS, CTW.. Maybe someone liked it but, I found the story extremely boring & just meh..

I know many people who think Vice City is the best GTA ever, and I know many people who think San Andreas is the best GTA ever. I guess both are excellent games, just not suited for everyone's tastes.

Don't get me wrong, mine was just a personal preference in terms of atmosphere/characters/dialogues. I didn't even finish SA and I adore the GTA games Sad

This trailer appears to be made from cutscenes and it has black borders, resulting in a 1280x576 image. This is 20% less pixels to push than full 720p.
Maybe they just did it to make the trailer more cinematic, but maybe they reduced the resolution in cutscenes to enable some additional lighting effects and use less aggressive LOD. The scenes from the trailer appear correctly framed for the wider aspect ratio, this could stay that way in the final release.
Would be especially bad for PS3 players if Rockstar uses a lower resolution to begin with, resulting in 1024x480 cutscenes Laughing

Actually someone made an excellent point about this once.

As you all know or might not know Rock* Interactive is made up of many divisions each of which more or less focus on a brand
with the occasional assistance from one another.Cock* San Diego, the developer of RDR released their last PC game in
2003 - Midnight Club II and seem to have abandoned the platform completely whereas Rock* North has stuck to the PC
platform for nearly all their games.

Foregone conclusion that R* N will be bringing the Windows version soon. I just hope the PC port isn't given to those tossers at Cock* Toronto. Laughing


1 and 2 are still amazing.

So much clearer than the console versions and it's not even funny. The PS3 version was a blurry and aliased mess. It was terrible and i remember that i had to tone down the sharpness setting on my TV to make it beareable , something i never did for any other game before that . Yes it was aliased on the PC as well but it's not even comparable to the PS3 version. Not to mention that it was running at a sub par resolution that was not even 720p as well.

Unfortunately i don't expect GTA V to be any different Sad . They will most likely use the same blur effect with no AA and shit resolution as they did with GTA IV or otherwise it will run like shit. Hell it may actually run like shit even with the aliasing and blur Razz
