Just played it. It's rather good, not really scary though. The enhanced reflexes slow motion thing is rather cool.

thx for the screens, looks pretty good. about the bullet-time, is it reloading or do you have to kill enemies to replenish it?

Haven't really thought about it, it's something about "heightened senses", not sure how it works yet.
The enemy is fun to watch, they throw down shelves and roll around and stuff, they are pretty cool. Lot's of blood and shit blowing up when you shoot things.

Haha, good god, there is like no chanse in hell that I will play this, it's way too scary for me.
It was fine at the start but as soon as I arrived in tiny sewer corridors my heart went up 10000000000 beats.
I will avoid at all cost
Looks to be a great game though, for those that have the balls.
It also ran decent at 1024x768 and medium settings (shaders on maximum) on my old 9800pro (416/370), 1700@205x10.5=2150mhz and 640mb running at awesome timings.
If I turned shadows to minimum (still on though) it ran extremely smooth and I would problary be able to put other settings on higher settings, but the game is not meant to be run with almost no shadows, it totally kills the athmosphere so it's not worth it.
So it will work fine on quite shitty systems (by todays standards), as long as you dont go crazy on the settings.

I am having major issues with this demo even from the start!
I just grabbed the Demo from Gamershell.com, and I just tried to install it, so I double-click the .exe, and the mouse turns into a sand-clock as usual when something is loading, but nothing happens. The setup does not start, nothing, it just sits there.
I rebooted, to see if it was a mistake on my side, but still the same. I installed the Dungeon Siege 2 demo this morning without problems, and other programs can be installed, not just this one. There is nothing in the task-manager either about any new process or anything indicating what it could be.
Is there anyone with a trick or hint? Maybe I did something wrong?

about the performance.
I'm running it on a decent configuration :
Athlon 64 3800+ Venice + Geforce 7800 GTX + 2Go DDR1
and the game is absolutely not optimized at all.
I've got 42 FPS on 1280x960 res with AF on (4x)
but without AA. As soon as i activate the AA (and i can
assure you it's necessary at the beginning when they
are a lot of stairs...) and suddenly the fps drops downto
19 fps
I think they have a problem on this game with AA
since it is de-activated in the options panel when you
autodetect the settings.
I'll conclude : if they do not improve the 3d engine
performance with the retail version i'm sure that a lot
of us will be deceived. |
i dont think its the game !!!
your drivers i think !!!
