You are insane! I mean, you finally have the privilege to try the long awaited Medal of Honor: Warfighter, one of the most authentic war experiences ever made..and yet you prefer wasting your time playing those silly RPGs and bugged pseudo-games like ArmA. Bah...

What’s Coming in the Next Origin Update
In the coming days, we’ll be rolling out a new update to Origin users worldwide--beginning with players who have opted in to beta updates, and going live for everyone else shortly thereafter. As always, your helpful suggestions and feedback over the past few months have driven many of the changes you’ll see in this new version of Origin. The two most notable additions we’ve made include the ability to quickly and easily broadcast your gameplay live to Twitch, and the ability to add non-Origin games to your My Games library. Together, these two features unlock entirely new dimensions to your gameplay experience on Origin. Here’s a quick look at what's coming.

Twitch Broadcasting
We’re proud to announce that Origin is partnering with Twitch, and today we’re launching phase one of this integration. With a few clicks of your mouse, you can now broadcast your gaming session live, directly to your Twitch channel, for gamers around the world to view. With the combined power of Origin and Twitch, it’s never been easier to take your own gameplay online, in real-time.

To start broadcasting, just start playing a game, then bring up Origin In Game by hitting Shift+F1 (or whatever keystroke you’ve chosen for your Origin In Game Hotkey). You’ll notice a camera icon has been added to the bottom of this screen. Selecting this icon will ask you to sign into your Twitch account (or to create one if you’re not a registered Twitch user). After signing in, you’ll see the streaming dashboard where you can start or stop your broadcast, give your stream a name, and adjust volume levels. Your stream will be viewable at www.twitch.tv/yourtwitchname. While you're streaming, a broadcast indicator will show up on the top of your screen to let you know how many people are watching your broadcast, and how long you’ve been streaming. Even if you close Origin In Game, the indicator will remain to remind you that you’re broadcasting—and of course, if you don’t want this indicator up all the time, you can just disable it in the settings menu.
The new broadcast tab in the application settings menu will be where you set the defaults for any stream. Here, you can determine broadcast resolution, frame rate, turn off the broadcast indicator, and more.

As we mentioned earlier, broadcasting your gameplay to Twitch is just the beginning--this feature is still in beta, and we advise you to stay tuned for more Twitch services and functionality in future updates to Origin. A quick caveat for those of you who are new to streaming: broadcasting your game does take up bandwidth, and it may affect your frame rate. If your gameplay slows considerably while streaming, you may want to either reduce the resolution of your broadcast or look into upgrading your CPU.

Adding Non-Origin Games
Another new feature we’ve implemented is the ability to add games purchased outside of Origin to your My Games library. Now you can launch (and broadcast) all your games from a single convenient location. To add non-Origin games to your library, just select Add Game from the main menu, select Add Games Manually, and pick the titles you would like to add. After making the selection, a shortcut to that game will appear in your My Games library. Right-clicking on that shortcut and selecting “Shortcut properties” will let you change the name and location of that game, and allow you to add any command line arguments (for example, adding “-console” to enable the console command) to your shortcut.

Additional Upgrades
Adding non-Origin games to your library and integrating Twitch are the two big features in this release, but we’ve made a number of optimizations and small tweaks to the client as well. Your Friends List should now load faster and feel more responsive; we’ve also implemented a change that will let you stretch the Friends List horizontally to accommodate long IDs, status updates, and real names. Right-clicking on Origin in your task bar will now display more options, like recently played games. We improved overall client performance to quicken load times at launch and elsewhere. And, we’ve built-in a feedback survey—because we love to hear from you.

To the Origin Community we’d like to say thank you again for all the input and suggestions. We’ve worked hard to develop and improve Origin; we hope you enjoy the changes. And we’re not even close to done (for that matter, we really never will be…). If you’ve got as feature you would like to see added to upcoming versions of Origin, please leave us a comment below.

Password Change Required
Until now there wasn't a single update without this cool feature, and this one is no exception. Have fun choosing a new password yet again (or be a rebel and enter the old one!) because we inexplicably keep fucking this up update after update.

Fixed.

And the major reason why I dislike origin because it's still a bit bugged.

Twitch Broadcasting, so revolutionary! Laughing

Though I must admit that lately I'm using Origin on daily basis and I've quite learned to tolerate it. It's still a piece of shitware with almost no useful features, but it's kinda trying to be decent, and I appreciate that...except when it decides to automatically change my registry entries just to troll me like it happened last week.

What kind of error? Razz So far I've had to deal with looping installation issues, permanently greyed out games, 'wrong path' warning messages and random unexplainableOrigin has stopped working.

Same here,it took me like 2 DAYS to install DA:O due to looping installation and constant error messages. Fun times that was. Laughing

Now in order to play the game again,I guess I have 2 days worth of mods to install as well. Very Happy

Haha it happened the same to me too with Fifa 13, fortunately I found the problem after "only" 2 hours..but still, a treasure hunt Laughing

I've found this:
Quote:
This error is mainly caused by the missing of certain EA Access files or the improper installation of Adobe AIR. Check for whether your computer has installed Adobe AIR, if not, download and install it first.

Worth a try Razz

That worked btw. Smile Originally I bought the game from d2d, that reseller is now part of GameFly. I also tried installing DA:O through their abysmal software, but one of the downloaded rars was corrupted. Anyway it works now! Wonder if I ever going to finish the game though. Very Happy

So I did some research and found how it works.

This current hack originates from Russia. Gamers tend to use public groups on their biggest social network vk.com, so they usually post something like "my origin ID is DerpHerp1999, add me!"

A supposed hacker can see this info as it's public, he can check the Origin account by its ID and see its owned games, using Origin client only. He contacts EA support via Live Chat from Origin, and says "hi, I forgot my email, my ID is DerpHerp1999, my birthday is 31.02.1999" (that birth date is a public information taken from victim's social network account). After that hacker doesn't need to do anything difficult - should they ask any retail CD keys he can safely say that he lost DVD boxes. Right after support tells him the exact email address, he says he wishes to change it. He tells a newly registered email and they gladly change it inside the Origin account.

That's it. After this a victim gets an email from EA about "successfully changed email address", but 5 minutes is enough to change ALL details of the account - including birth date (this is the only dubious thing here - probably only possible with some client-side manipulations on EA Edit Profile webpage).

Victim is then unable to get the account back in most cases - the first thing EA support asks is always the birth date, which the victim can't know because it was changed already, which makes further attempts talking to the same support agent more and more useless.
Sometimes it's more effective to call a local EA support center via regular phone and make them believe you after you tell them few real CD keys from your past purchases.

Haven't tried this myself and probably won't (can't stand that retarded EA crap), but there are happy reports from wannabe haxxorz, they say they are collecting accounts very fast using this method. So fast they are selling them publicly at this very moment.

There you go - couple of months ago they were using a bruteforce to change the password and everything else, now they can do it even without bruteforcing any passwords. I'm pretty sure Origin is still completely unprotected against bruteforcing, and it still allows hackers to change the birth date of the account.

Quote:
Anytime a player has a question about the security of his or her account or personal data, we take it very seriously and take all possible steps to help. For any customer who cannot access their Origin account for any reason, we ask them to please contact Origin Help or EA’s customer experience group at help.ea.com. The robust security measures in place to protect Origin users accounts are constantly being expanded and upgraded

If they're stupid enough to have their birthday info readily available they're also to blame.
Although EA's decision of using this info as they do is also incredibly stupid...

Reusing passwords for game accounts is also not handy. Lately I installed Keepass2, a tool that lets you store accounts and passwords and encrypts the DB with AES. I forgot the master key though. Mad
