Sounds to me like you have/had an old launcher. Did you let it sit for a minute before logging in to let it update? I think it usually forces you to update anyway, but worth a shot. There's also the FixLauncher app in the same directory. Running that will install an old version of the launcher. Then when you re-start the launcher, it should update to the newest version.

As to the PayPal thing, I think that's actually normal. From memory when I did my sub through it back in January it took more than 2 weeks to show up (although presumably they were being hammered with requests back in those days).

My brother used their shit app on android (he had a galaxy s2), while he sold his S2 and bought a S3 he couldn't login anymore. He tried to enter the forum without luck because that app is asking for the security code instead of his secret questions. He contacted EA (live agent) and that idiot told him he should call their support Laughing.

in free 2 play, i think its worthless. And for the "is it worth the 25gb download", well, it depends. most of the story-lines are actually decent. So if you wanna experience some "the old republic" stories, i think its worth it (think kotor). If you want a mmo for long duration, its not (unless you want to spend money, but believe me, you're better off with other f2p mmo's). But imho, most of the stories are really worth it, also its fun, imho, to pass though the planets at least once. they're actually really nicely done. But only the first time Smile

If you die you have to pay to be revived (and LOTS of other shit). Razz

They crippled free to play so much it's almost useless.

Pretty much. End-game loot is still above anything crafters can possibly make.

there are still a couple stories (notably sith side) that i haven't played, so i am going to install and play it just for that. The class stories are really well done, sadly, its the only thing done good in this game Sad

You have to pay to be revived (more than 5 times) in the field, medcenters are free, silly goose.

Basicaly: if you're going for the story on a RP server you'll have a harder time, but it's possible to finish everything on f2p. First planet for my Jedi Knight is not that bad (though it will probably change later on).

they may be well done (not all, some are plain boring) but they are burried in shitloads of crap quests. which you need to repeat for each char to "enjoy" his storyline. basically for 1 hours of storyline enjoyment, you need to hunt spaceboars for 2-5h. depends of level. and for f2p players, is worst, because you have a limited number of warzones/space missions/fp's.

Smile i know what i am getting into. may i remind you, that i bought the game at release and played for 4 months total (well, minus 2-3 weeks at the end, where i just couldnt give a fuck anymore). Got a lvl 50 Knight and several 20-30s other classes. And yeah, what really pissed me off, was to redo the s-am-e f-u-c-k-i-n-g s-h-i-t with each class, in the same order (planet 1, 2,3,4 , no choice whatsoever). I think the last char i made, was the ... agent. played till level 20ish iirc. Story was quite amusing, but i couldnt bare to do the same shit again. maybe now, after 7 months, i can actually do it. Who knows.

still have to see, how much of an impact the xp reduction actually makes. I remember, with my knight, i usually had to do at least 50-70% of the "planet" quest, in order to get the level needed to advance in the story.

That's like saying "I'd play a rpg if they let me skip all the side quest bullshit and let me progress head on with the story"

another i really disliked, regarding the planet quests (i.e. side quests etc), is, that nothing you do has ANY impact whatsoever. Everything is static and stays the same, no matter what you do.

Well some people don't want to repeat the same quests through 8 playthroughs.
