Demo was OK, nothing mind blowing - and it was really short. My only major quip is the major swapping/thrashing i get when entering corridors etc. Really annoying. Peace,

Nice demo...Game should be good. I'll finish Dungeon Siege II while I wait for it.
Can't turn of soft shadows, thats one of the nice features...hehe
Nice to see my 7800GTX come to some good use...

LOL. I upgraded my comp about a month ago. New cpu, case, motherboard, and more ram. Still wanna get a new card which I will before this comes out. And some more ram before the year is over. |

This game is gay.. DOesnt play on 2 pcs. which meet the reuirements with the lates drivers.

any of you had sound problems? when the game starts there is a little conversation between bullhead guy and girl and another guy with sticker "fear" on black coat and black hat too. anyway i can see theyre lips moving but cant hear nothing:( and also in the car with the comander(can see him talking to me but can't hear).
the other sound efects are fine and also the guy that site on the chair bleeding at the end of the demo..he kinda speaks too and i can hear him.
anyone?

I have the same sound problems. I’m using SoundBlaster Live 5.1 sound card.
Going to c if newer drivers will help but there is some info in the read me file and I think its a bug that’s going to be fixed in the full version. |

i think that 77.72_win2kxp_english_whql.exe are good on b2 only, we can use also 66.93_win2kxp_english.exe i think

I haven't tried the soft shadows : i let the autodetect option setting the
gfx informations and i just changed the res to 1280x960
I experienced some slowdown at the beginning but i found it was related to the Vsync option which was on. Try to disable it , maybe it can help...
BTW I'll give a try with soft shadows on . Did u try to see the performance
with AA set to 2x or 4x on your geforce 7800gtx ?

I use the 77.77 for my gef6800gt, and I play the game @ 1280x960 without softshadows, everything else maxed and it runs very well.

What's forceware drivers?
And what is the name of those custom drivers made by some other people? I heard it might be better than the official ones..

From what I saw so far FEAR seems to be a nice game (I didn't finish the demo yet) but the FEAR engine is a huge disappointment for me. It runs very very slow and choppy on my computer - it's almost unplayable. That would be ok if it would look unbelievable good but imo the graphics are not very impressive. Games like Far Cry or Riddick look way better and run smooth even on older hardware like mine. What a crappy engine! It's a shame because previous games with Lithtech engines did not only look good when they came out they also ran good (and basically the FEAR engine is just a new Lithtech engine.)
Why did no one license the Cry Engine or the Starbreeze engine yet?? - Stupid developers/publishers!
