Our lousy internet company bills us halfway through the month, or thereabouts, and since we're moving at the end of the month we asked them to cancel the account at the end. Well their "end" is basically the end of the current billing period, which is tomorrow (the 19th) -- so now our net is going to be cut off tomorrow and I won't be able to get back online until we've finished our house move, which may be sometime in December. Yippee. Joy.

Meh.. so anyhow, I'll be offline from sometime tomorrow, so I just figured I'd say goodbye for now just in case they cut us off at 1200 at night >_>

To be honest, we had expected to be moved in by now.. but this purchase has been one cluster fuck after another, with a senile old bastard of a lawyer who doesn't know his arse from his elbow screwing up several times. Now we're still waiting for the documents to sign, which isn't likely to happen until the end of the month, then we can finally start shuffling our belongings to the new place.

Bah.

Naw, the only reason we're with this company is because they're the only company offering internet -- and it's radio based... and very expensive. We tried a DSL one but the line was even more unstable (and a third of the speed)

Oh well, it'll only be for a couple of weeks.. we hope.

I remember you posted that price somewhere but I can't find it right now. It was something around ~ $120, right? Though my memory may fail me. And I assume your ISP uses radio technology?

Well, anyway. Just as kurwatoni said:

@Raccoon

Aye, I should be online way before Christmas. We're hoping the start of December, but egh.

@Leo

Haha.. there's nothing stay strong about, it's just the internet, I'm more grumpy about the constant delays and back'n'forth nonsense about the house, but thanks Smile When I come back I'll be on 70Mbit -------- for half the bloody price we pay for 8 \o/

Well, keep those fingers crossed - chances are you might still get at least a few days for free, sometimes when those accounts are closed there's a delay for whatever reason.

Oh and, are you moving to Svalbard or something? If it takes longer than a single weekend to move, you have way too much crap. Very Happy

No no, we're only moving a couple hundred kilometres north, but we can't move IN until we get the paperwork sorted and the keys to the apartment, and the lawyer who is dealing with this decided now would be a good time to take his annual vacation Rolling Eyes

Well our estate agent called us an hour ago and said we'll be able to travel up to the house and sign the paperwork on Thursday this week, hopefully we get the keys then though it's not certain, and then move in the following week -- and the net company is supposed to send someone today to collect the equipment (which we paid 2000kr to be installed, so god damn if we shouldn't get SOME kind of rebate)

Hopefully back online sometime in the next 12 days or so Neutral
