I'm genuinely surprised that Ubisoft honoured those "sales" and actually sent out keys. They could have easily just deleted the backlog of emails because surely they know that the voucher was used for a particular transaction.

Although saying that, I'm more surprised I still have my Origin account with the 35 or so games I amassed on there with the EA cockup.

It does not work like that, you can't just set it to russian region and buy cheap games. You would also need to use a VPN, but buying through it can easily get you banned.
