So glad I didn't buy this pile of steaming vomit, I just cannot understand why games are released in such a pathetic state. It's almost as if Ubishite are trolling us...

@ .Bole
I installed the game. Tried to start it once, that should make it update uplay and assassin's creed to 1.01.
Then I applied this "v2" crack.

It is normal that I need to replace the uplay.exe each time I play right? Razz

Yeah, playing before release date and with only a Russian patch is definitely the way to go, damn Ubisoft!

After playing for 2.5 hours, i am sorry to say i really don't like the game. The setting in particular does not appeal to me. It's bland and uninteresting, doesn't encourage exploring, characters so far are not properly introduced and fleshed out, so i really cannot "get into" the story - they are for me just random dudes telling me to do shit for them, i don't know who they are and what is their motivation. Gonna play some more, maybe it gets better.

On the bug side, most NPCs have rainbow coloured hair, on my old and trusty GTX260. Also i have to find a way to disable the SSAO, it makes the game look like shit, sometimes it's almost cartoonish.

To put it into context, which are you favorite AC games?

AC 2 and AC Brotherhood. Never decided which, but now that you ask I slightly incline more towards Brotherhood.
Loved AC1 too, but it became repetitive after a while.

I ran into a bit of a problem : i have to shoot some explosive barrels, but i cannot select the pistol. I tried everything, it always defaults back to the sword or the hidden blade. I do have a pistol, 8 bullets, but when i select it it just jumps back to sword/ hidden blade.

Shooting is a different button. Dunno with the keyboard but with the pad is Y

Unless you're playing very fast, you're pretty much still at the tutorial stages. How would you know anyone's motivation if you didn't even properly started the game yet?

Yeah i played for a couple of hours too, but I find the setting nice (even if is clear that is just some backstory for the main charachter) but the gameplay a bit bland. Combat seem super easy. I've played some AC2 and brotherood but left them to my gf as i found them a bit repetitive and easy (while my gf loved them, but she doesn't play much, she hates when a game doesn't spoon fed what to do next, she is the prototype of the casual gamer)

I felt the same way when I played it on my PS3. I don't like the setting or the new protagonist . Maybe the setting is more appealing to US citizens, I don't know?. I got to New York on PS3. The side quests seems pointless and rushed. Actually the whole game feels rushed out the door.

I'm still gonna finish it on PC when it gets a proper release.

The game executable isn't hacked, and it is patched to 1.01. My rig is better than required spec, I can play any other game recent or otherwise with no issues, and I'm a troll?

Of course, if it works on *your* rig, then it's everyone else's problem.

I'm so fucking pissed off tonight anyway, and pathetic shit like this makes me want to give up the whole 'community' thing altogether.

Seriously? If It didn't work on anyone else's machine other than mine, then I would obviously have an issue. But, it clearly has problems on many other PC's, so how the fuck am I in the wrong exactly?

How is that any different than "oh look the game runs like crap on my system so it must be some badly optimized piece of shit"?

Because if it does run badly on a system with a 6950, then yes.. it's a badly optimised piece of shit. The fact that it runs for you on your superawesomewicked card does not negate that fact. So yes, I have a huge fucking bug up my arse about people saying "runs fine for me, lolz, must be your rig, lolz" - it's insulting and it doesn't help anybody, it just offends them Wink

I don't know why someone saying "it runs like crap" has any more credibility than someone saying "it runs great on my new PC", but OK.
