I lowered everything and switched to 720p. But there are still drops in fights etc. I hope there'll be patch/new drivers for this

Game runs like shit even on 5Ghz i5 in cities, nice optimization Cool Face 35-45fps (and yes this isnt good). Also i think those numbers from PCGH have been pulled from ass, since when GTX 660 has been faster than 660ti? And 660/660ti according to that are very close to performance of 680 Very Happy

Naaaah, 660 is NOT faster than the 660ti on their benchmarks. It just happened that the 660ti dipped lower (maybe once!) and thus has a lower recorded minimum but the average clearly shows that the 660ti maintained higher FPS most of the time.

And the performance between the 660s and the 680 is close because they were CPU limited I suppose.

Will not lower, since its not the issue and it looks like crap (on the screen ofc) Very Happy Oh and yes, AA was on high, but it doesnt matter if i use normal or high, FPS stays the same.

1080p & 1440p

In fact it seems it scales pretty good with multiple cores!

A hexacore is 2 times faster than a dual core.

The fuck, 30 fps on a six core cpu seems good to you ?

What should we do now, all get hexcore intel extremes to break 50 fps ? or kill it with 5ghz oc's to play the game smoothly ?

Btw im getting 20 FPS in Boston on my FX 6100 .....6 core don't mean shit.

If those benches are true...it seems the game doesnt know how to use my 6 threads and sees it at as 3 core (yeah i know 3 modules yaada yada).

Still shitty port job tough

Anyone getting issues while installing using deamon tools? I keep getting a data2.cab error sound_sfx something. Also get an error while installing with some PB files.

I've tried 3 versions of the game, all seem to do it.

Well I sure am glad I stopped playing the PS3 version, the difference in detail and loading times is ridiculous. What happens in the background when I set FXAA to very high? I get 45-60 with it on high, but putting it on very high almost halves the fps. As for CPU and GPU usage, the GPU is fully used and all four of my cores are used as well (one at 100%, the other three at 75% most of the time).

Isn't Very High, 4x MSAA + FXAA? Battlefield 3, Max Payne 3, Hitman: Absolution, Metro 2033, all those deferred rendered DX11 games do not play well with MSAA anymore, often halving the performance. It served us well, but come next gen, it'll probably be forgotten for something more efficient, based on how FXAA works.

Shit port, yay.
Now will this be fixed on the retail version or with future patches?

Probably not Reaction

Sorry but i find this very hard to believe, got some solid proof of this, since everyone so far reported the odd cpu usage and you would be the ONLY person in the world right now having it proper....

Well after about 3 hours, I can still say this is the best AC game I have played. Luckily most of the technical issues I saw on the PS3 are not present since the PC has enough power to handle it, but I can still see some clear pop-up of textures/models. Apart from that, I personally think it looks great (compared to the other games in the series that is). The animations are top notch and finally they have payed attention to detail. While the cities and buildings in the previous installments looked good, there was practically zilch small detail. I like the new setting, the architecture is more varied and Boston is much morer lively and believeable.
I find combat in this one better than the previous games. It is tweaked and there's a better flow to it. No one will play this game to overcome big challenges, but if you present a simple combat scheme the least you can do is present it in a good looking and fluid flowing way.
Better atmosphere and much more attention to detail graphically, those two things alone make it the best AC game for me.

That's probably it. The problem is that the graphical difference between FXAA on high and v. high is minimal while the fps is hit hard (or I am not seeing what I am supposed to see). In Metro for example, I could see a good difference between high and v. high (still not enough to warrant half the fps).

Could one of you edit the ini(or cfg, I'm not sure) in your AC 3 foldur in Documents to start the game in DX 10 and check the difference in performance? I was told that you can change the DX mod this way.

(I can't try it yet, I have to wait until 22 heh, but pre-load is almost done though)

I didn't say that, but could you atleast provide logs so i can see?
Because there is NO reason for us to get shit cpu usage if you are getting proper one, so i want to find out as to why then.

Im getting around 80-90% on all cores (according to task manager, and this was at middle of city with lots of pedestrians). Tho i dont think fps drops has anything to do with CPU usage or so, game is just shitty optmized (there is no way that the game would require more CPU power than my i5 @ 5ghz lol). Sausje, you should try turning HT off, that can cause some major problems on certain titles.

By the way, am I the only one who finds this character a whiny bitch?! Pisses me off. Other than that, the game is amazing.
