Is it more difficult than Brotherhood or Revelations? I found little motivation to sneak in those games since it was far faster and easier to just kill everything in melee.

Not at all. Combat is easy mode.

I don't think that's working... the .ini file automatically creates another string Graphics_DX11 after launching the game again.

Ok, so this is really odd.
Trying to find any way of improving the performance enough to somehow play it, I walked around Boston and watched my CPU and GPU levels.
CPU runs at about 80% usage for the game executable.
GPU... well if I look at the ground or the sky, it peaks at about 19% usage. But, and this is the odd bit, when I look straight ahead into the distance... the GPU goes to 0% usage.
0%.
I totally cannot understand that in any way. Surely there should be SOME usage, I mean, people are walking about (slowly), and the game is running normally... but as soon as I lower my vision to the floor, still enough to see people walking around, the FPS jumps up and the GPU gets used a bit.
Don't suppose anyone else with issues wants to double check that for me?

I don't know if I'm having "issues" per se, but it doesn't run all too well. Getting ~80-100% usage on the first core and the rest are anywhere between 0-80% depending on location. GPU usage barely ever reaches 70% which would indicate that it's all CPU limited. FPS is around 40-60fps usually ( vsync 60hz ) on maximum settings.

Why/how is this bad? If the game is scaling the other cores based on demand/location then that sounds good to me! Now if a faster CPU with the same GPU shows better performance then, yes, that would show a bottleneck. But one core at between 80 and 100 percent doesn't necessarily sound like an automatic 'bad port.'

I'm ~8 hours in so far, and now I'm not so sure if Dishonored is going to be my GOTY.
I ran around for 2 hours hunting animals and collecting feathers.
This game is the closest to Red Dead Redemption the PC gamers are going to get.
The sound when cougars attack you is actually very similar to RDR
I'm playing as a young Connor as of now, still haven't left the Frontier when the game prompted me to, already liberated 2 forts (as a fucking kid ) and killed lots of animals. |

THETA version really isn't working for me... tried russian and multi ISO's both, various localization files.. not just loading my old saves, starting new games doesn't work either. Guess I'll wait for a proper release that includes the DLCs as well.

Can I activate my AC3 via vpn and play it in Europe? I'm so much curious about FPS, I can't even wait anymore.

With the files from IAMAwesome, this should complete the PC version (his version was the Deluxe edition and has 17.3 gb).. Curious if the Theta crack works.

It is more difficult when there are a lot of enemies since for the first time in this series they actually crowd you. Being shot from left and right in the later sequences also pulls you out of theflow (which in turn leaves you open for crowding). So I agree the combat is more challenging (but that wasn't much of a challenge in itself).
Do I lock-out areas (or do I get a warning) if I progress the MQ too fast?

true, but setting the ini to read-only will prevent that.
it actually works, but i only got a few more fps out of it. also, the game looks a whole lot worse than with dx11 and there's unimaginably horrible pop-in like Dr_Teflon said. it's really bad.

Unlocking it right now. Should I activate it while VPN is active or does Uplay allows me to activate in EU?
How can you play it Neon? :/

Yeah, it's exactly the same pop-in that I saw while playing my PS3 copy. When you set your settings to low, it has some pop-ins, sure, but not as much as setting graphics_dx11 to dx10.
Forgot to take those screenshots yesterday, now I'm at work, the only AC3 around here is the WiiU version

i'll check it out when i get back home, though i'm pretty sure my results will be the same. when i look at the ground or sky, i'm getting 60fps no matter what settings i'm on. as soon as i look towards boston it goes down to 19. setting it to dx10 makes the fps drop to just above 20.
