u get constant 60fps?
do tell me how u manage that cuz i got
a64 4000+ 3gb mem and 850XT and the game is running off a 10 000 rpm drive i'm running it on a gaming profile so no virus shit or background stuff thats not needed is running and i dont maintain 60fps with everything on max....in dx8 at 1600 x 1200 it runs fine in dx9 the performance is very inconsistant

At the end of the FEAR trailers, u can see ATI logo (not nvidia ones)
So we can guess that ATI invest money for this game and that it will be more optimized for ATI than for Nvidia (like a certain HL2 ??)

HL2 = optimised for ATI 
there are hundreds more games licensed by Nvidia though and I agree the 7800 = needs drivers. Its not up to game developers to optimise for every developer, it really is up to the companies. They do some optimisation in the sense of getting it to run on directX 8 cards. |

the demo was ok but I got horrible thrashing. Framerate-wise my 6800GT had to put up a struggle at the auto-configured specs (1024x768). Hopefully the full version will be better optimized. Peace,

I need some help in the demo. I reached this place that looks like a hanger where a big armed guy dropped from the roof and shooting missiles on me. It's right after the part of the spooky bloody hallway with this little girl. What ever I do, this guy kills me. the rockets are too fast, even for slowmotion. maybe its supposed to be the end of the demo?

Btw just wanted to tell that it runs great here on 1024*768 all on medium. On a AMD XP+ 2600, 1 GB PC2700, Geforce 6800. I think that most people have a equal or better system so if it does not run well trie the 77.77 drivers.

They are official writed by nvidia but and are official released as beta drivers. They are just not WHQL yet, but as we all know a driver takes ages to become WHQL and nvidia have to pay Mircosoft for testing it, so that's why most drivers are 'beta'..

Demo ran great on my rig.Everything high except lighting. This is the first game that really creeped me out, ill definatly buy this one.

it runs shitty but playable on my rig:

1024 mb ddr400
but who cares the bullet time bits are the coolest anyway

"running smoothly" can mean many hings to different people. Some people would say 40fps is "smooth". Some would say atleast 60. There aree ven those nuts out there who wont even touch anything that wont run at 85fps +. Personally I'm with the 60 crowd, so if I'm not getting atleast 55 or so fps I'll freak out at the game, and this one does give me frames in the 30s and 40s (yet a lot of the time I get 80+ too). Since there's no benchmark in the SP demo, it's kinda hard to get a rough comparison of what people running this "smoothly" are talking about; In the MP demo I got 52 fps and it told me to raise details before playing ^^ Peace,

Well I get no slowdown, that's all I can tell you. I don't really give a shit about the FPS as long as they are about 40+.
