Ehh there seems to be something wrong here, I finished the game, then I replayed a level (orphanage) and now I cant select any other levels past the orphanage, as if the game thinks that's where I'm at in the game. Any ideas?

Throw something into the opposite corner of the room, then subdue him.
Also what level of difficulty is this? There's no one there on normal.

thing is i subdued that guard after knocking lenny so my score dropped from 160k to 50k but did it right the second time; also after getting shadow on that level i got a different cutscene

You can move freely as a barber. There are three easy ways to cause "accidents" to get silent assassin rating. When those two accident deaths have occurred, you can activate the final cutscene when Lenny sits on the chair while you're dressed as a barber.
dont know what i did the first time i finished that level, but when he sits on the chair i got 2 different cutscenes for when i got shadow status and the other time
So is there anyone in the end playing this on purist? I certainly had to back off seeing as i don't know how much fucking instinct i have left, and the guards must have cybernetic eyes from the future with ultra zoom and face recognition software installed.
How come every single person knows who Agent 47 is anyway? Though he was supposed to be an invisible assassin

Replaying the hotel mission now, I got one of the two keycards without being spotted, having trouble with the shoe salesman. There's a guy rambling in one of the rooms that are inaccessible, you can hear him while crawling through the vent.

The same goes for the Chinatown mission if you try to poison the guy- the police men see you when you're trying to steal the fugu fish.
I suppose you could drop the piano on him without anyone noticing though
I did the king of chinatown without using instinct. I went to some shop stand and picked up some weird poisonous thing on a platter and used it on the food the king goes to eat at times and he died, and i went out without any problem.
I haven't gotten all that far in the game yet, so i don't know if there are multiple Chinatown missions.

What exactly can't you do in the tutorial without using instinct?
The gardener? Distract him. The 4 guys at the end? You can distract two of them by sprinting near the low wall and once they say "all clear" sprint again by the door, wait for it to close and and stand on the side. They'll open it and you can subdue them. Throw the coffee mug and you'll distract the 3rd guard.
It's the tutorial anyway and only one area in the tutorial goes towards rating. That area is pretty easy and I actually got the evidence just by using the gardener disguise (go up the stairs, distract the guard when the "Head" says "dismissed", hide, wait for the 2 guards to finish the conversation, open up the windows, go by the different set of steps opposite of the one the "Head" takes and snatch the evidence while the guards are distracted).
I outlined a bunch of options on how to handle the Chinatown mission a few pages back. All of those on purist, I have Instinct unbound.
You can get the poison when the vendor woman goes to serve the customer, crouch and the long reach of 47's arms do the rest.

Not a fact. I did get caught the first time i tried, but i managed to sneak my way in without getting caught the second time. I didn't even know how to use instinct that early in the game. I had no tutorial help.
How I did the hotel mission on purist with no Instinct, suit-only and no detections (huge spoilers obviously):
Part 1
Spoiler:
-Go the van, pick up the wrench just in case, wait for the electrician and the guard to pass, the old woman to stop shouting, go behind the low wall, wait for the guard to go by the dumpster, hide behind the dumpster. The guard that was arguing with the old woman should go and smoke in the corner. When the guard in the back starts going to the guard that smokes, go down the stairs. Sometimes, if the screen goes white, the guard will just indefinitely start patrolling up and down. Distract the guard in the back and go down the stairs as usual.
-Ignore the first two guys and go right, disable the fusebox and while the guard is close to the elevator, call it
-Another guard shows up. You have to disable the fusebox again and slip by undetected (haven't tried distracting)
-Go in the elevator when everyone is looking away
Part 2
Spoiler:
-Go into the restroom, through the vent, wait for the maid to come in, grab the film reel.
-You have two options - open the door and crouch by the service tray or go through the vent again
-Go through the police tape, by the maid on the telephone, open the door and activate the fire alarm
-Once the guard have a rendezvous in the lobby, go by the door upstairs (I can probably do this blind by now)
-Go directly opposite the doors and hide where the film reels are
-Play the movie
-Watch the movie (optional)
-Guard'll stop smoking, once he rotates right, grab the shotgun (for shit and giggles) and go into the lobby
-Most of the guards will be watching the movie, there'll be two guards guarding the parallel hallways, one of them in front of your objective, the room 899
-Do the rotation trick again, lockpick the door and voila, no instinct, purist, no detections and suit-only

And yes, you can also finish the rest of the mission without using ANY instinct.

- Steal the fish
- Pick up a bottle somewhere
- Wait for cop to go back into the alley and drug dealer to come down
- Timing is a bit tricky here, wait a few seconds after the drug dealer passes you, then sabotage the power.
- Black cop + sitting cop come forward, just stand there doing nothing, with your back to them
- Hug the wall, throw bottle into the far corner, sneak past the third investigating cop
- Poison, just sit there waiting for them to come up (takes a while, but a hitman is patient, right?)
- Target dies, dealer freaks and leaves him behind so you can calmly hide the body
- Pick up another bottle, go downstairs (wait for the patrolling black cop to walk out, follow not long after him) and distract the two idiots and just walk past them
Done. A few points where timing is tricky, but perfectly doable. I've been dicking around in this level for a while, looking at my other options; accidental kill with the suspended crates, sniper rifle, coffee poison, lunch poison and there's challenges to blow the fucker up?
Good amount of options. Fucking terrible level size, mission after that isn't very impressive either. It just doesn't feel like Hitman at all; sure, you get more than 1 way to do it, but you're driven to them almost on rails, not a lot of freedom to move.
I'll finish the game anyway and see if the contracts are any good, but unless the game really picks up later on, I'm not that impressed. We've seen much, much better.
I agree, The Chinatown level can be completed without using any instinct on purist mode. Just make sure youre in sneak mode when stealing the poisonous fish and you wont get caught

I finished that Chinatown mission under a few minutes and got Silent assassin rating. Grabbed a knife and noticed that the target was taking a piss near the exit. Threw the knife to his head and ran to the exit, made it even before he hit the ground
Not even trying to get Silent Assassin rating on every mission on my first playthrough.
