He's supposed to be a naive good person coming from his simple tribe and completely new to the deceptive ways of the white bureaucracy.

Exactly, I really like Connor, he's an idealist and doesn't know how white people do business. And he IS naive.

Maybe it's only me, but Connor's shitty VA (especially when it's a non-essential quest) killed his character a bit for me. I don't understand how almost every character, even small ones, have excellent VA, while Connor is so shitty. When he speaks the native language he actaully sounds better since in English he's very mopnotonous most of the time.

Well well well I found the culprit for my annoying framerate drops, I changed the "Environment Quality" from Very High to High and now the game is smooth like butter. 60fps everywhere (vsync on) even in Boston.

Apparently the voice actor actually is a Native American, so it's no surprise he sounds more natural speaking his tongue. Maybe it was even intentional.
Anyway, the MK controls feel much better than in previous titles. I like it.

I can't imagine any other voice fitting his character/rol.
He sounds like he needs to sound.

The optional objectives really cut the pacing in the game :/ there is a lot of trial and error in those and it kinda pisses me off.

My save finally got corrupted, game froze up my pc during a cutscene.
Can someone provide me with a save at sequence 6, please? (Reloaded version)
I had pretty much completed every single thing that could be done up until starting the first mission of sequence 6.
I collected every chest and trinket in the frontier, had every mission beforehand up to 100% sync, and collected every chest and trinket and almanac page in Boston as well.
God I put so much time into this game and it really hurts to know that it's all lost.
So maybe sequence 7 would be closer to my completion, I can just replay the missions from 6.

Yeah DLC unlocked with SKIDROW version you just copy decrypted save with unlocks. With Uplay crack you'll need special ownership file and that may show your old saves as damaged so if its not working you'll have to start over again.

I finished the game yesterday. Here are some thoughts on what I liked and did not like:
Good
- The new moving animations feel great - more fluid and natural.
- The graphics are adequate - naval episodes and the frontier look gorgeous even though the engine is pretty outdated.
- Streamlined controls - It's not like the previous games had any problems in the controls department but the i got used to the changes right away and wouldn't want to go back. Perhaps they could add something ala Sleeping Dogs where you have to time some keypresses to give yourself a boost.
- Combat is pretty satisfying most of the time despite being really easy. This is mainly to the variety of new combat animations and sync kills. Some of those tomahawk and Captain Kidd's sword executions look nasty and made me cringe.
- The setting is nice and very well-suited for an Assassin vs Templar conflict.
- I liked how Connor's storyline ended.
- Haytham Kenway - Really enjoyed his sequences in the beginning and the episodes later in the game were a nice touch.
- Voice acting except Connor's - Agree with Mister_s and others who noted the superb VO from many characters. Haytham especially - a nice mixture of chivalry, nonchanlance and inner darkness.
- Naval Battles are simple and arcadey but fun and fulfilling. Really enjoyed them. Numerous time felt myself ducking with the whole crew to avoid a broadside from a man-o-war or felt shivers down my spine after unleashing a barrage of heaters and seeing them tear the enemy ship to shreds.
Bad
- The story and writing felt rushed, sloppy, inconsitent. Connor is bland and boring especially compared to Haytham which was even more evident in contrast in some sequnces later in the game. Some character development issues that have been noted by many people - especially evident in the case of Charles Lee - who suddenly turned into a cartoon villain over the course of the game
- Overall such a great setting was poorly utilized - it could have been so much more. Just like that one video review posted here - I thought it was really stupid to plug Connor into every notable historic even of the period like Paul Revere's Ride or the Boston Tea Party.
- Homestead was a nice side story with a satisfying resolution but as a gameplay mechanic it fails miserably. This had so much potential to influence the core gameplay but this aspect was almost completely neglected.
Why not have some serious and gameplay changing armour and weapon upgrades tied to the homestead? There are like 2.5 weapons you can craft and some capacity upgrades.
- The Liberation and Assassin guild also seem like a rushed tack on. The unique abilities are nice but these guys are not tied with the story at all. This could have been used nicely to show a contrast in methods and personalities between assassins and templars.
- Fort assaults are piss easy, disconnected with the story (Like Neon I liberated two forts before the revolution even started???) and serve no purpose whatsoever. Like many things it is a tack-on - just to pad playing time. Why not make every fort assault a complex affair involving preparation, reconnaissance and execution that has you utilizing your assassins for various tasks? They could have easily tie it to the suspicion meter.
- Tree climbing is very inconsistent - sometimes fluid - sometimes you get stuck and/or fall through them.
I have to say that despite these issues I enjoyed the game a great deal. Even though i didn't have great expectations when i started - the potential became evident as I played through it - which made it a double whammy to see it wasted somewhat.
I wonder If they wanted to make a full game about Haytham at first with the whole twist in the end - there are some things that point to it - like Ben Franklin's almanac pages - why would Connor even bother with them if he never met the man?
I'd love to play a game about Haytham - maybe one of the next installments will tell us about the years before Connor grew up?

I noticed that starting the game in safe mode prevents save file corruption.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

And stupid. And tedious. And unrealistic. And wooden. And a hypocrite. And the worst possible protagonist ever. Seriously i wanted him to fail.

Yes because before the white man everything was great!
I also finished and apart from Haytham, Naval missions and fluid combat (which to be honest is a bit too easy)i didn't like most of it. Homestead was a great idea, but really underused. The idea that Assassin recruits have personalities and skills is also great, but worthless in the game since you get to use it ONCE. Most of all i HATE Connor and i hate the setting. Hunting? Who cares. Exploration? Why? You don't even find anything of worth. Not to mention the story is rushed and stupid.
I can describe the game in one word. Tedious.

Love all these people complaining about the english voice acting of an actual native american actor speaking english...
He´s not american sounding enough!
Connor is fine as a protagonist, he´s on par with the ridiculous Ezio storyline or the non-existent Altair one.
Aside from the ending, and an overuse of gameplay gimmicks to pad the gametime, i realyi enjoyed the game, the combat and traversal are fast, fun and fluid.

What? Can you even read? We're complaining about the acting since its wooden. No emotion nothing, just the same dull monotone voice all the time, except when he's acting like a 15 year old girl.
Oh but since its a native American speaker then its ok?

I don't get the trading in this game. A crafted a bunch of stuff so i could make artillery since i though it would fetch a big price. End result? Around 1200 for a piece. The same as a bear pelt . I took me much more $ to craft the filnts and buy all the stuff. So what's the point? I just sold bear pelts and after buying all the upgrades for the ship and the gun that fires three bullets at once there's nothing else to do with the money.

The problem is not his voice, it's not his tone, he sounds like a man and that's enough. It's called voice acting for a reason, you're supposed to be in character and actually act. Just standing there ansd reciting text without accent doesn't make one a good voice actor. Look at Lee and Haytham and compare that to Connor.
@above: tradingn is crap in this game imo. I like the crafting, but it is executed very badly. Trading is made needlessly complex, mainly due to the shitty menu system.

i actually think his english dialog isnt that bad, its the native american thats aweful. the other guy too (the kid you play with as a teenager). following that conversation is so unnatural and monotone, and its not because i dont understand a word. It's just the tone...like they're reading stuff from a page (which they are obviously, but you shouldnt be able to hear that)
Ezio and Altair were actually cool characters to play (if not just for the awesome names, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who doesn't want to be called that) , just because they stood for justice and were actually wise and cunning . This guy is like the old guy says, a naieve asshole. He only cares about his people, and he only makes stuff worse cause he's impulsively killing everyone he doesn't like. He doesn't know 1 bit about the assassin heritage or code, and he doesn't even care. He just wants to kill people. You're playing an asshole, plain and simple.
