I only installed this the other day, and I've only played for about a hour, but the game hasn't clicked for me, yet at least. Maybe I'm just burned out, after finishing all the previous games with the exception of Revelations, in which the same happened to me: it felt like more of the same and I ended up ditching it after half-a-hour or so. And sadly, ACIII is giving me the same feeling. I really wanna play and enjoy it, but at the same time all I can think of is: this is boring. Sad

It also maybe due to Far Cry 3 and it's impending release, which I'm more hyped to play than I was to play this one. Either way, I'll probably put it on hold, and maybe a few moths later I'll give it another go. Smile

Although, if for some reason FC3 doesn't hold up to my expectations, I think I'll just play this one instead, so I'll keep it installed for now at least. Razz

Something is definitely wrong with this game. My GPU usage (just 1 GPU, SLI disabled) is around 60%-70% and my CPU (930 bloomfield) speed seems to have no impact on the GPU usage. I changed clock speed from 4.48Ghz down to 4.20Ghz and no change in fps or GPU usage

Seems to be some sort of driver bottleneck. Im currently using 310.61 Beta driver

I should also mention that when I do enable SLI, my GPU usages are equal but around 20%-30% which results in the same fps as the situation in my first paragraph

Any possibility of RAM bottlenecking?

Hello,

may anyone tell me how these side-missions work?
http://www.gamefront.com/assassins-creed-3-how-to-level-up-artisans-guide/

I just don't really get it. Example:

Quote:
Sequence 05
Note: After finishing the Lumberer’s Event, return to Achilles.
Lumberers (Lvl.1) [Summer Only]

Where do I find the Lumberers-side-mission and is my assumption correct, that you have to do it right before the ship-mission?

I don't know what that guide is talking about, but you won't miss any missions. Hell, you can do them all in sequence 10-11 if you wish. You won't see all those missions at once since missions unlock each other (some are directly related), so just do the homestead missions when you see them. Artisans level up after you get the reverend, it was in sequence 9 I believe. The missions prior to that do not level up the artisans, but their resources. So just do the missions when you see them and everything will work itself out.

Does the notoriety system from earlier games come into play at some point? I'm only in sequence 2 and murdering the english patrols with seemingly no ill effect.

it does, and it's actually annoying as fuck as the red coats are everywhere, took me a while to be able to shake during a mission. It's there...

There will be a whole mission explaining it later on. Although it only works fully in cities. Frontier locations all have fixed suspicion levels that you cannot lower.

The game has a very slow start (as always), after the first 3-4 hours it gets more entertaining. Smile But it's definitely not a "revolution" gameplay wise so I can't guarantee that you'll like it (I am enjoying it - quite surprisingly-). Razz

I know there are a lot of smart guys here, so someone can possibly answer my long, but basic question:

How come that from the HUNDREDS of people, who made, worked on, tested, quality checked this game, NOONE said loud enough that a 5 min cutscene+1 min-"gameplay" (climb up (can't run) the stairs) + 5 min cutscene + 1 min "gameplay" (go (can't run) down the same stairs + 10 min cutscene + 5 min "gameplay" (press T every 20 seconds while sitting on a wagon and unable to do anything else) + 5 min cutsene combo for HOURS is BORING and is the WORST possible start for an otherwise good looking game? I mean comeon, somebody must have seen this when testing!

Will this get any better?

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

The hunting system sure is something, I've seen better animal AI in those crappy hunting games from the 90's - sometimes even the passive animals run right at you to kill, pretty convenient! Laughing

I got 5k worth of crap (should I sell all of those pelts and such, or is there a use for them later on?) just standing around in one of the hilltops for 10 minutes or so - elks, wolves and bobcats kept spawning right next to me as soon as I finished skinning the earlier kills.

Yeah the hunting system is pretty average. You can basically run from point A to B and kill everything in your path Laughing .

As for the skin material ect they are pretty much worthless unless you are a completionist and want to craft and buy everything ect. I kept verything i skinned until the end of the game until i realised that it was pretty much pointless and that i should have sold everything from the beginning.

The only worthy things to buy are weapons and arrrows , darts , bullets ect imho. Maps if you want to get all feathers , chests ect but personally i thought it was pointless so i didn't bother. Didn't get any costumes either so i'm not even sure if they actually gives an advantage or if it's for cosmetics only.

Overall i enjoyed the game but the side stuff was pretty much pointless compared to the other game. The crypts with the jumping/timing puzzles in AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations were much better if you ask me.

If you collect all the feathers you get an outfit.

The crypts or jumping/timing puzzles are still there if you collect the Pegleg's trinkets.

Yeah, it's not a bad game at all, but just feels it's more of the same, to me at least. 3-4 hours? I think I can manage that. Razz But I did completed a mission earlier, and it does seems to be speeding up the pace, so I'll probably take another shot at it later. Smile
