Then why not use HBAO or disable it fully in via config?

Honestly DX11 features are mostly gimmicks that add little to the visuals and eat up FPS like a hog.

hbao is a lil better.
Any ambient occulsion is better than none. At least during typical exploration.

Hbao takes far more fps than hdao or ssao. And like Killer said any ambient occlusion is better than none at all.

I am not sure if HDAO even works correctly in this game. For me with it turned on there is practically no visible ambient occlusion. HBAO is best .. and also most costly in terms of performance.

I think people think HDAO works best is because it doesn't, and game looks best with it, without the horrible black glow. In a sense, they are correct. Laughing

Its matter of taste i guess. I find game better looking even with SSAO than without ambient occlusion. I am talking about environments, various objects, interiors etc not characters - the glow around them can indeed be distracting and annoying.

I agree. I tried the game without any ambient occlusion and it looks a bit dull. Also, the difference between some AO and none at all is very visible on Jason's hands when holding a weapon.

some emulator action. I cannot believe that ISS pro 1 is still the best footbal game ever.

It blows ps 2013 out of the water. and its not even nostalgia. I would have never believed it have I not fired up the old one in ePSXe.

I still have no idea why people hate this game. It is sure linear but I like the atmosphere, graphics, story, gameplay. It feels starbreeze. Not riddick level at all but still...

The guy got himself a debug 360 version of the game and his screenshots are great

Fucking epic. Gears of war 2 and 3 are among my favs. Shame not on pc. SHame. same could be said about Darkness, Red Dead and first Dead rising (second was piss crap)

For an alpha it's working really well although admittedly I only saw the early sections of the game.

It starts out quite similar to Fallout where you select basic attribute scores, then various proficiencies and finally two special perks.

There's quite a bit of dialogue with the various named NPC whom are stationed in this bunker or what it might be (It's some sort of underground complex.) where you start the game, early on you are given a sort of test and some very basic equipment while you follow a mini tutorial of sorts.

This game also has PSI skills although I was not skilled enough to use them, also it features crafting and a lot of other interesting items can be bought from the various NPC traders.

Combat is quite difficult and I didn't find many healing items other than what I managed to scavenge and buy with what little money I had (Items are very expensive.) so even the first group of hounds I encountered got very tough since I did very little damage against them and then encountering this stalker NPC whom hit four times for at least 11 damage (I had 70 hit points so in two turns I was dead.) meant an end to that current session.

It has a very nice atmosphere so far mixing various low tech settings like this run down bunker in a rail underground setting with higher tech inventions such as sentry guns and patrol robots, PSI abilities and the like.

Numerous side quests are available as well from the looks of things and the various skills you can improve do make a difference, being able to persuade people or trap small animals for example (Or craft items and various traps of your own.) to name a few things I noticed in my short session with the game.


It can only get better as more improvements are done to the game with later updates, will be interesting to see what they do to the game from here on. Smile

So yeah I liked it quite a lot and as I said it's very similar to Fallout in many areas which is not a bad thing.
(Probably borrows from some other games as well.)


Sounds good and looks awesome. I remember it from a year ago...
