is there a way to poison the smoking guy in the chinese new year level without the cook noticing?
he always sees me and cannot be distracted.
I managed to kill him with a knife throw and nobody ever noticed but this counts as civilian casualty.

Here are some unorthodox... ways to finish Chinese New Year:
if you're suit only or in the gopher costume, you can also throw the remote explosives over the wall, directly in front of the smoker, and blow them up while going towards the exit, this distracts the guards as well

Nope, just use the trainer for now, it does its job just fine ( the default value inside the scripts.var file is 0.3, try to change it into 0.4 or even 0.5 if you want more challenge).

Why poison him?
You can easily slide past the cop and the cook to get to the smoking guy, sabotage the fuel pump, get back out again and wait for fireworks to begin. All with suit only.
And yes, it IS more fun than poisoning unless you specifially go for that (is it a challenge, I don't pay attention to them?).
Every unique way to kill the target is a different challenge and completing those gives a higher score multiplier as far as I know, don't really pay much attention to them either though I still got most of them anyway since half of them usually is just picking up different items.

yeah but its bad design of IO to put another method of killing in there and then set it up in a way that its not possible to complete without being spotted / losing SA rating.(unless you knife throw the cook, which is more like tricking the AI's limited visibility cones)
the other guys in that level can all be killed with different methods (shot by cop, crushed by metal bars, pushed into hole, electrocuted while peeing etc.).
The only feasible option of killing the smoker is by sabotaging the fuel pump.

poisoning the guy aint a challenge, there are some possibilities in the game that arent challenges. e.g. you can sneaky kill the dude in the orphanage boiler room by turning a valve, this also isnt a challenge.
I tried distracting him with the fire extinguisher and a bottle but it doesn't work. I also tried shooting a wall, he is completely unresponsive, so I'm going to go ahead and say that there is some fucked up script.
By the way, the vendor near where you get the katana has a male model, but is voiced by a woman.
really could be a scripting bug, when closing in on the stand for the first time the cook sometimes starts to wave his arms and advertise his food and seems distracted.
but he never does it again, maybe this was supposed to be a recurring window of opportunity.
Out of curiosity to those who played this, is this one of those shooters that when you say shoot the enemy and he dies, the blood disappears and you can no longer see the bullet hole? lol
anyone know what the official response is on the disguises and AI vision bugs? will it be corrected or do the devs consider it working as intended? don't wanna use a trainer if they plan on fixing it.

Bullet holes stay, but only like 3 to 4 of them before they start disappearing. Kind of lame since even the first Hitman game had tons of bullet holes on bodies.

IO said they are working on a patch for instinct and disguises.
It should be with you guys soon. There are a number of fixes going in, including the same ones that are making it into the console patch, but also quite a few PC specific ones. I will post a full fix-list once I have it.
