yeah in fact this film made me look back on the last one much more favourably.
atleast the last film had direction, and had a style about it. it was sillier than any of the previous films, but it atleast had a plot, characters, direction... it was a movie, with a goal for the characters... characters that felt alive, and interacted. the world felt atleast somewhat tangible.
retribution was just a bunch of battle arenas stringed together, populated by empty dolls that no one cares about in the least, doing shit no one cares about, and doing it in a really synthetic, boring and unsatisfying manner.
the next film is really going to have to work HARD to be worse than this one.

Saw Resident Evil: Retribution last night. Utter crap, sadly. I did enjoyed the previous movies in the saga, and while the quality was always decreasing from movie to movie, I never expected this. It was a chore to watch till the end.

Why sadly that you enjoyed the previous movies? They were good popcorn fun! Zero shame in that. The only pity was the hopes I had for this film to follow suit were utterly destroyed.

Think you'll find it's Leo saying how deep and profound it obviously must be. Probably not quite as deep as battleship, but it's definitely up there. I liked what the characters signified to us about society, and how metaphorical the bike zombies were... and stuff...

Safe House 6/10
Denzel is... well, denzel and derp reynolds is ok (waldo will rejoice ), but aside from a few well done chases and fight scenes the movie is pretty weak.
As usual the characters intelligence conveniently changes to accommodate the needs of the script and you figure out the big twist villain early in the movie.

Trying to adjust my to-watch list but after reading the last couple of pages about the Bourne Legacy...
Are you serious?
Sure legacy wasn't as good as the trilogy (which would be an 8,5).
But it sure was good enough for me to finish it with some popcorn.
Solid 7 in the least.

Resident evil retricrap was... Interesting.... I honestly think any of us has a hope to make a movie in Hollywood after seeing that. How anyone can fund or green light that movie is beyond me.
Only saving grace of the movie is the cool shades guy. Thanks to him movie gets 0.5/25

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - 8/10
Not for everyone, but very solid, superbly directed and perfectly acted. Intriguing story too, although I'm sure that this is one of those movies that gets even better on a second viewing.

You know that a hollywoodian action flick is really bad when even Laurentiu rates it 5/10

Robin The origin story - 8/10
JGL was pretty good as a young robin before he joined the police force.

Lawless - 8,5/10
Really good, the whole cast did a fantastic job (even Shia LaBeouf) as well as the -quite underrated- director. Not to mention the perfect music/sceneries..We need more movies like this.

Premium Rush 6.5/10. Action-thriller- simple premise, well executed. Stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Cockneys vs Zombies - 5/10.
A mediocre mix of Guy Richie flick with Shaun of The Dead. Expecting something a tad better.
A Man with Iron Fists - 7/10.
A pretty cool "kung fu" tribute flick. Some cool fights but looses momentum somewhere in the middle.
Grabbers - 7.5/10.
Not bad horror-comedy.
