1) Telepath RPG: The servant of gods (a sadly unknown indie masterpiece)
2) Inquisitor (incredibly impressive in spite of its shortcomings)
3) Dark Souls (how every action RPG should be made)
I can't really bring myself to mention Risen 2, even for a 4th place. It still hurts too much.

Will get around to playing Dark Souls one day, Have it on PS3 but didn't really get into it using a control pad. Maybe PC version with community fixes will be better.

The only RPG worth to be played this year is Risen 2, and its mediocre.
Baldur's Gate E.E. was by far the best game of the year, for my but of course cannot count because it's a re release.

Umm not a good year for rpgs..but..
1. Kamidori Alchemy Meister. Quite good Japanese game (minus the porn) and usually over missed. One of the best crafting systems
2. Legends of Grimrock . Decent atmosphere, food search searching and the difficulty was a nice touch as well.
