Showtime can only use soft subs with twonky or linux version of minidlna, I haven't found anything else that works.
Subs work fine using usb drives or internal, of course.

I'm not using showtime for most of my streaminings,I'm using mostly the default mediaplayer in the PS3,because it's easier to skip with that, also,I can confirm that I'm using PS3 media Server on Windows 7 and in most formats subs working fine, just use latest PS3 media Server version, rename the subs the same as the movie/episode you want to play in the same folder.

I just learned today you can play x264 mkvs with showtime. No need to use mkv2vob or convert or any of that shit. Not to mention being able to skip forward and backward without the pauses I was getting in the regular media player.

Oh badass, I always hated converting .mkv files to play on consoles.

Quick question; Is it mandatory to install the 'QA Toggle' package file, prior to installing Rogero's 4.30 V2.03 CFW? What's the real purpose behind suggesting this step?

if you are on 3.55 (ofw/cfw) you can update to it straight from a usb stick, it even says so in the description.
i did it that way and it worked perfectly.

Hey Excellent! Thanks Zeel. That's what I wanted to know. I was planning to update soon enough. Are there any drawbacks on this firmware currently?

apparently cinavia protection is back again until they port the disabler to 4.30,
but as long as you play/stream everything through showtime, it doesnt matter.
all previous games work (if you run into problems, delete game data and let them install anew), new ones dont need any eboot fixes anymore and also run straight, but you will need to resign old homebrew and psn games + fixes.
there is a new resigning tool out for pkg files that works well and only takes a minute, forgot the name though...

Never cared about playing video content through any of my consoles, so don't give a rat's arse about Cinavia. All my older PSN titles are almost completed, so I'll probably not be playing them anymore. What about the recent PSN games and the edat replacement? What's that all about?

its simple, just install the psn title from the pkg, then put the edat in your profile folder on the ps3. (just ftp it to hdd0/home/00000001/exdata)
start the game and wank away (or not)

You only need QA Flag to dehash syscon if you downgrade back to 3.55...
