SimBin are proud to announce that a new GTR game is in the pipeline; the wait is over and development on the next installment of our multiple awards winning GTR series has begun. The title will take gamers back to the roots of SimBin style racing games, while offering a brand new take on the basic concept of “easy to drive, hard to master”, the hallmark of SimBin titles for the past decade. SimBin will take a significant step up in both realism, visuals, and sheer immersion, offering players a completely new and unique experience based on the known and award winning simulation philosophy of SimBin. SimBin will focus on continued support for the game through multiple new innovative online features and activities, in addition to a very comprehensive DLC plan. The title is scheduled for release 2011, publisher TBA For future announcements on the new GTR game, keep an eye on www.simbin.com.
"THe GT Legends Workshop has released their Power & Glory 3 mod for GTR2.
Based on GT Legends, Power & Glory brings a heap of carefully created historical cars to GTR2. The team has cut no corners as all cars have been created with plenty of details, liveries and scratch made physics and tyre data.
Furthermore, the team has also overhauled GTR2s UI system, rounding out this carefully-crafted mod.
The car list consists of some of the most famous touring & sports cars, click here to check out the full selection of all cars.
Unlike earlier versions of Power & Glory, the new version does not require a GT Legends disc to install so all GTR2 owners should make sure to give this major mod a try!"

Kinda related, the Raceroom Racing Experience project is entering in beta stage:
Quote:
"The first beta release adds the circuits of Hockenheim, Portimao and the Lakeview Hillclimb together with the car models 134 Judd, Canhard R52 and the DMD P20.
It is not too late to sign up for the beta! Go to http://cbt.raceroomracing.com/beta-signup/ and sign up, or click the button labeled 'Join The Beta' found in the main menu of the RaceRoom Racing Experience Teaser."
Yeah this is like an experiment, and a way to test the new tech and physics (they're both pretty solid in my opinion)..it's a shame though that GTR3 isn't coming anytime soon. Fortunately we have Assetto Corsa, rF2 and Project Cars who are looking like great alternatives.
Simply enter the multiplayer lobby code without the dashes and the title will be added to Steam, meaning you can now play without having to worry about the old discs.
well I got two keys in my GT Legends box, but Steam dislikes both... One is invalid (on dvd, I believe this was Starforce activation key), the other one (on manual) gives me Purchase error... great

Back in the late 90's I had an Interact handheld force-feedback racing controller. It was somewhat styled after an RC car controller. That thing was fucking awesome for racing games. It only fucking worked with win98 though. It wasn't a software issue - it just would not work with XP or anything past it. Even with a gameport or a gameport to usb adapter. It just didn't work. Which sucked because it was amazing for racing.

If this is their new "direction", I guess we'll never see GTR 3.
Is this Live for Speed?? Wait no, that one is actually fun
Yeah, stay away from that Raceroom Pumpy, they went full-retard with the P2W madness, and even the handling has been made more accessible for the arcade crowd. So sad

Glad that you're liking the mod. It's tough as hell at first, but so satisfying when you get used to it. I probably wouldn't be able to make a single clean lap now
