Quick update on interface mods :
First : A recolor of BGEE interface, for people who can't stand the blue color. (Or may have simply seen too much on it on forums they frequent.)
http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/11358/gui-mod-re-coloured-bgee-skin#latest
It's pretty extensive and replace the majority of the screens you'll use. It's a small change in color but could make some people very happy.
Recolor : http://i.imgur.com/ZyFzi.jpg
Original : http://i.imgur.com/v2GpQ.jpg

Second : A much bigger change of the interface, Archaic HD.
http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/10158/gui-mod-archaic-hd-for-bgee-beta-4-0/p1
This one includes a lot more details. If you want something a little flashier, with more ornaments, this is a good choice.
It also includes a few options when it comes to buttons and inventory background.
This interface doesn't cover as many screens as the previous one, but the creator seem to still be working on it. It does cover many of the most important ones tho, it's definitely playable.

What difficulty do people play this on? I'm on the 2nd hardest but I'm finding it quite easy... I'm on chapter 5 and I'm waiting for it to pick up but it seems I can beat most things pretty effortlessly, if I go to the hardest will it absolutely destroy me or is it still pretty tame?

Monsters will hit harder but if you're already having an easy time, you may as well bump up the difficulty a notch and give it a shot. Just keep saving often and you should be fine.

Ranged combat is overpowered in BG1 due to the low level setting. Everything is squishy and dies fast. You can basically have your summons tanking and everyone shoot arrows/darts/bullets and win every battle. There are some tougher fights in ToSC areas because of the raised levelcaps and some gimmicks - the dryads with dire charm come to mind.

BG2 is tougher (if you play normally and don't abuse overpowered tactics and glitches) because of magic being overpowered - with so many protections, buffs and instakill spells. Plus many enemy spellcasters have all these contingencies that fire off as soon as they are attacked and you have to spend time and spells to remove 3-4 various protections.

I'd imagine you could just remove it and install this in it's stead and just load the save game and continue with your game. Smile
(I don't quite remember where the saves are located but I think it was in the User folder so it should be OK.)

multiplayer works, tho is bugged, ie i couldnt sleep in taverns, game freezed every time. it also crashed randomly from time to time

as for char import i wouldnt count on that

edit - i`ve checked multi only via lan ip, both pc`s were in the same lan. both ini files must be the same (fps, pathfinding), ports unlocked and obviously you must allow both exe`s to connect to interwebz (windows notification should come up when you choose multiplayer mode).

MSE is reporting the Ali213 Chinese torrent as having "HackTool:Win32/Keygen" within Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition.exe. Most likely a false positive, but thought I'd warn y'all so you could take note.

It has none, THETA's installers usually tick off heuristic scanning, just like Skidrow's .dll's.

Bitdefender is great, but it killed my PC for 20 minutes as it was trying to deal with a 1,5 GB single .exe. Which it then deleted, even though I specifically added it to the whitelist.

I like the patch changes though, so it ws worth it Smile

So GOG's Xmas sale seems to have started, but with an interesting anomaly. All the D&D games appear to be 50% off, as per usual, except for two notable exceptions. Guess which.

Is the scroll case fixed in the patches?
I added one via console, but its useless, like 10 scrolls or something and then its "full" despite the gem and potion cases holding an unlimited amount.

I don't think they changed anything about the Scroll Case (unsure), it should have the same limit as before (somewhere around 20?).

They added one in the latest patch (2011). Must help Firebeard in Beregost.

I'm running skidrow unpatched. haven't gotten around to grabbing the other version. Too lazy.

The problem is even if they added it, it seems to be limited at 20. Which is useless.
I've got 2 mages, both with nearly full inventories of scrolls. Adding a second one doesn't help as all scroll cases share inventories. Open either one and see the same inventory of scrolls.
