Ha! I wanted to believe as you can see by my posts, but I had this feeling that it was too good to be real.
I'm still worked up because of the whole situation, but the things was: the seller was a condescending prick, that kept pushing that his Xbox could run homebrews/pirate games from the HDD because it was "chipped". This fat (and I do mean FAT) fuck, that obviously knew nothing about running games from the HDD, who later in the discussion ended up revealing the method used to make it run the games was a software. Which to my eyes means: flashed DVD firmware, since he also said that the console was never opened. So, how could the console be chipped? Therefore, no JTAG/RGH.
To be able to test the console I had to give him half the money and let a family member stay in the café with him. This after a discussion about trust, ironically. The asshole couldn't trust me, but I had to trust him. That's exactly what he wanted: money in the pocket, and me without what I payed for...
Anyway, when I tried to run a game from the HDD and it prompted me to insert the DVD, there I knew, he was trying to sell me a pup. Only after I knew about what I said above.
When I asked him directly to his face if he ever even done it (run games from the HDD), told him what I wanted and that his Xbox couldn't do it and basically showed him I did knew what I was talking about, the motherfucker said: deal off! To which I said: gladly! I guess this only proofs the con and shity liar he was, because the second he saw I wasn't getting ripped off, he immediately tried to back down from the deal.
Well... I think I could have played cool and bought it, since it was apparently capable of running backup games, but due to the fact that I wanted exactly not to deal with that, I'm happy I didn't close the deal, specially with a fat fuck prick like himself.
And let's not forget as some of you mentioned, maybe the thing could went bust just the next week, since he could've tempered with it before hand. He definitely had the tongue and confidence of a con artist.
Anyway and sadly, all this made to me was not want to buy whatever it is from whomever it is, online or otherwise. So I guess this means: store bought only and therefore no Xbox for me so soon.

So, yeah... please bear with me, because I have more noob questions:
- 1. The PS3 in question is a 320GB slim model. The seller claims it has a 3.55 FW. And if it really is so, it means a CFW can be installed right?
- 2. And it's easily done with nothing else than a USB pen and few files when no downgrade is required, correct?
- 3. The CFW allows me indeed to play games I can download from the Internet?
- 4. Can I play virtually all past and current games with an updated CFW?
- 5. With a CFW installed, I lose access to the PSN and therefore access to online gaming and any other activity where Internet is required, correct?
- 6. How can I then update my games or download the DLCs? Is there any alternative to either the PSN, or would I need to, if possible, download the patches and DLCs from the Internet, and install/apply them myself?
- 7. I imagine there's no alternative then for the online gaming? And if there is, I wouldn't be able to play with legit users, right?
- 8. 8. Regarding the HDD, if I run out of space, can I just plug-in a normal external HDD, or will I have to buy an internal PS3 specific HDD? Or, I can just buy a normal HDD and replace the internal one, correct?
- 9. Is there anything more I should know, or that I should have asked?
Thank you.
Edit: typo.

1) Yes
2) Yes, correct
3) Yes
4) Yes
5) No, you don't lose access to PSN. You can be banned though, unless you are smart ) Hint : you don't want Sony to see what you have
6) You don't need to be connected on PSN to update your games, they are on a separated server. The store needs PSN though. So if you are banned and want to buy DLC, it's quite complicated (not impossible but...).. Just pirate DLCs
7) There is an alternative, for example XLink Kai, to emulate a LAN for game with system link support, like xbox 1 & 360. Legit players can play with you only if they use xlink kai = aka never.
8 ) Correct. You can replace the HDD with any 2.5" hdd as long as it's 1TB max. You can use any FAT32 USB hdd also.
9) Yes, when Sony pushes a new FW update, you will probably need to mess with the game executables again (EBOOT.BIN files). But it really depends on how motivated are the people that are actually doing something for the scene, instead of being buttfucked by leaks.
You're welcome.
