(this is my first such post so bear with me)
Unity of Command: Stalingrad Campaign
- Official web page: Unity of Command
- Developer: 2x2 Games
- Genre: Turn-based Strategy
- Release date: 16 November 2011
- Story/Description:
Quote: |
Unity of Command is an innovative and refreshing operational-level wargame that covers the entire 1942/43 Stalingrad Campaign on the Eastern Front. Playable from both the Axis and Soviet perspective, it strives to recreate the strategy, the forces involved and the general tension of that crucial period in World War II.
Experience the highly fluid, enormously large battles of maneuver in a turn-based strategy setting. Take command in this mobile, back-and-forth sort of war where logistics and poor weather are often the decider, and defeat and victory are sometimes just a mile, or a day, apart.
|
- Features:
Quote: |
Easy to learn and intuitive, with fast and flowing gameplay
Historically accurate operational-level units (Axis divisions, Soviet corps)
17 single player scenarios, Axis and Soviet, at the scale of 20km per hex, 4 days per turn
Campaign mode that puts historical and what-if scenarios in strategic context
Sophisticated weather model, with realistic per-hex weather
Novel supply system, providing for exciting battles of encirclement and breakout
Belligerent and aggressive AI that knows how to counterattack and threaten supply lines
Integrated “History Mode” for after-action replays
|
- Multiplayer: Multiplayer via the Internet
- Size: 100MB

Haven't seen any mention of this game, but if you like Panzer General II, this game is awesome. Bought it for $15 from Steam and it's worth it. Haven't played a good turn-based war game in years, but this one is great.

PS: Its 10$ on their site wish becomes 8€ instead of the Steam rip-off

There is one. It's not associated with any release group, though. WBB is your friend.

not sure why then went with II ... if they had just released dlcs every 6-8 months, their brand would be so much stronger, like dafuck, they dissapeared for like 6 years , what kind of stupid busines strategy is that ... build a brand and then just have to start over from scratch all over again ...
u cant possibly innovate the original with new stuff enough to warrant it being a successor

First impressions.
Its an evolution in complexity. Still a great game but I would rather have the simplicity of the first one on a bigger front/ map (maybe with a strategical layer) instead of the new unit habitability's
