stalin was a sick fuck, he was unpar with hitler... just read up on what he did you the polish resistance fighters who after a month or so of fighting with the germans fled to russia and were greated with gun fire or arrested. not to mention stalin who refused to help the fighter OR even let allied planes to lend and help them out. that not even counting other crap he did to his own people.

max there was a big difference between stalin and hitler, Stalin did things although very ruthlessly with a reason, the ppl he killed gave him a huge leverage for whatever reason he killed them for, hitler on the other hand killed ppl cause they were different.

what was russian army etiquette, shoot flee'rs also remember that the poles were always considered untrustworthy by every single rusian ruler.

well we saw that during the cold war as well, but you cant say it did not have its reasons.
whilst hitler mearly killed jews and blacks, homosexuals and gypsies cause they werent like him.
stalin was a ruthless leader and powermaniac, hitler was a syco big difference. i gotta be honest with you, i studied all the leaders of this period and Stalin was by far the most intelligent and resourcefull of the lot. some of the things the russians managed to accomplishe in the 20 odd years he ruled were very impressive.

i disagree i think hitler was the smartest of the bunch, stalin was too a very smart leader but his ruled with total iron fist... him not helping the polish was not really because he disliked poland, it was because the allies promised him more than half of poland and he wanted all the resistance to die off to make the take over later on much easier...

what made hitler the smartest, the fact he was hopped up on drugs by 1945, his economy would have bust shortly after his defeat, he hampered his own war effort by killing 12 mil civilians many who would have helped him, his decleration of war against the US, decleration of war against the ussr, letting british troops survive cause they were racially the same. or the fact that he managed to make a government where there was more beurocracy than in any other at that time other than italies.
i am sorry but hitler was a moron, a charismatic one but still he just got lucky too many times tbh. his war success had little to do wth him but due to the traditional excellence of the germanic armies.

Please don't turn this into another debate about Stalin and the merit (or not) of his leadership. We already had a massive debate about this and it didn't come to a resolution.

Bush is JUST now realizing what vision (however flawed it was then) Hitler had... to have one world government and language and possibly religion. the method of achieving it was brutal, but if he had succeeded... well then. Hitler underestimated the power of some of the foes he chose and Hitler did not attack or declare war on US, i don't know what you are reading since Japan drew US into the war. his only mistake was breaking his treaty with USSR... if he had not done that, the war would be a stale mate between an occupied Europe and US...
US of today shares ALOT of similarities with the old Germany, but their propaganda machine is MUCH more highly tuned and subtle... they have figured all the flaws of Germany and reshaped them to fit a perfect profile... obedience through fear, unison with the use of super patriotism and license to kill with half made up excuses of WMDs and "terrorists".

no its quite alright, i have read my share, i am by NO means an expert and respect your view which quite possibly could be more correct than mine, i am simply stating my opinion... i shouldn't have said his "only" mistake... sure he just like every single leader in the war made a lot of mistakes, i meant to say that mistake was the one that possibly cost him the war.
