Starz’ Spartacus is adding a trio of attractive newcomers for season 3.

Three actresses are joining the show’s cast for the next round, which follows Spartacus as his army spars with top Roman leaders.

New Zealand actress Anna Hutchison, who played a free-spirited temptress in Cabin in the Woods, will play Laeta, “the privileged wife of a Roman dignitary who becomes entangled in the struggle against Spartacus.”

Australia actress Jenna Lind (Underbelly II) plays Kore, a “loyal slave to Marcus Crassus (played by Simon Merrells), the Roman tasked to bring an end to Spartacus and his rebellion.”

And New Zealand’s Gwendoline Taylor (Go Girls) will play Sibyl, “a beautiful young slave rescued from Roman cruelty.”

Next season will be the last. A shame as I was expecting two more seasons. Hopefully it'll go out with a bang!

This. I was thinking more of two additional seasons, as the third servile wars lasted about 3 years :\

At least they should make the season 13 episodes long, like the first season was.

I haven't watched more than two eps, I don't remember why exactly. Did this season turn out to be as good as the previous one?

New actor was better, but second season was weaker and way too much glamorous.

such a talented actor.

It was especially sad that in the end of the video it looked like things were getting better...

How representative are the first two eps for the whole season? I know this series did always have excessive overacting, but this season seems go over the top (almost ridiculous now). Does it improve?

people kept saying he sucked as an actor until he died.

I mean, its sad he died, sure, but he wasn't great in spartacus, the others around him were.

Lets call it like it is.

watching right now the Season 2. The whole series is very interesting about bloody action effects, but the weak point of all this is the "American view" to see History and, also, to know in advance the final end of Spartacus.
Spartacus was an audacious rebel leader who was as colossal as Hannibal 150 years before him, and his army was gigantic. However he was all except a good strategist: After the murder of both Gracchus borthers in 133 BC and the rise of Sylla and Marius 50 years later, the whole Roman Republic entered in a large military turmoil, finishing only with Auguste. Rather than keep fleeing from Roman armies in the south of Italy, Spartacus maybe should have used Italian internal divisions to make allies and crush other generals. Instead of that, he became the best trophy of General Crassus.
