Ive had this machine for about 3 months now but just lately some weird stuff is happening that is becoming a concern of mine. When I power it up sometimes it doesnt boot! The machine has power but the monitor is in permanent standby and I hear beeps coming from the board. I fixed it several times by disconnecting the PSU cable from the wall socket and also the PSU and then reconnecting it. For the first time in months it locked up on the desktop and after hitting the restart button it wouldnt POST. However a few nights ago when it started acting up, it would not POST until I unplugged the VGA monitor cable from the video card and then reconnected it. Also I noticed a huge black bar across the centre of my desktop! The mouse pointer would disappear underneath it if I attempted to move it over it. I fixed that by changing the display from 32 bit colour to 16 bit and then back again. Personally I think the whole issue is caused by the video card. Anyone know of this or can comment? Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

Damn video card! I changed the options in Dungeon Siege 2 from party shadow to all shadow and it rebooted! So I went into the game and the setting was still set to all shadows. Then I set a few more settings and it froze! So I rebooted and it wouldnt POST again! So I unplug the video cable and put it back in again. POST firsts time, Windows loads, fire up the game again and start it. 2 minutes into the intro it freezes again! So I turn the whole thing of, take out the video card. Give it a dust and put it back in. Not tried the game since but I will do lol.

Ok! I think the card was loose or something because after reseating it, all seems good! Just been playing Dungeon Siege 2 and it made it through the intro and all 5 minutes I tested the game! If it goes pearshaped again Ill post another reply! Very Happy

No dude. Since I took the video card out and put it back in again, Ive had no issues whatsoever.
