- Sir, despite our best efforts during and after the beta, the released version of the game still has bugs and as a result the Metacritic score is only 89.
- What?! How the hell did they slip through?!
- We suspect that most of the bugs don't manifest themselves until later in the game, while the beta was limited to 1 hour.
- Wait a minute... I know what's happening here. The lazy fucks we invited just didn't bother to report the bugs! It's like they thought it was a glorified demo or something! Obviously we can't know for sure which of them withheld the information, so the solution is simple: BAN EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE BETA!

- EVERYONE! NOW! AND SUE THEM TOO!

As far as I know, this is a standard sports game clause. Pretty much all online games have cases of people being in beta that later exploited glitches. And since virgingaming and similar sites became big, these things became serious.

EA may have done some things wrong, but this really isn't one of those times.
If you don't report the bugs you find, how would they know if you abused them intentionally or not?
And that you can get your account banned for abusing/exploiting is to be expected. This is nearly always the case in multiplayer games.
