On chapter six now with solo campaign and no sign of carver following me at all. It's just like previous dead space games...you are alone killing monsters and solving easy puzzles.
There are some optional quests that are only open for co-op though which I find dumb since I would like to explore everything on my own.
Maybe one day I'll play this in co-op too in order to see how different it is.

FFS, how much dumber can these retards get
I know they're not the first to do this, but this is just so fucking stupid...
Tell me it gets even better, that these quests take place in areas not accessible during the SP campaign, amirite?

"It's confusing to me that this question even comes up," Papoutsis told us. "It's by no means any less important to us; it gets a lot of attention. The PC is a very different platform. As developers, you want to deliver an experience that's as similar as possible on different platforms.
"In Dead Space 2, I felt we made some great strides in terms of controls, responsiveness and even the visual improvements we got into it. We continue to evolve our games as we develop them, but we certainly don't target PC as something that's going to be significantly different. We aren't trying to create disparity in the experience that our gamers enjoy; we want to make sure everyone's having that same experience.
"At our studio, we've always made console games," he pointed out. "The biggest thing is we want to make sure the quality of the experience is consistent across all platforms so we don't have one userbase saying it's better on their system."

You should be gratefruit that they didn't pull a Lost Planet 2 with the forced co-op everywhere!
(oh wait )
They didn't. The demo was actually better in single player than multiplayer IMO (did it in both mode). The coop was lame and took away the atmosphere of being lonely in this game since you are constantly helped by a mate, which isnt the case in SP.

Nice, sounds great. Just out of curiosity, do you play with Carver as a bot at all during SP? Or does he only show up for backup in co-op?
Everyone was trolling DMC and the game ended up being awesome.
If anyone here isn't trying something because other people are making fun of it, they deserve to miss out on something they'd potentially enjoy
hah it's always like that here. there are a few regulars here who are addicted to trolling so they spend all their time making dump posts and photoshoping pics to show how derp and fail each game is. but once game is released, thread gets overwhelmed by people who actually played and enjoyed game so these trolls lose "power" and move on to troll another not yet released game thread. it's pathetic but that's the way of hump
I like how calling out on the game/developer/fanbase derpness and disappointing aspects mean (at least in the head of some) that I won't DL and play it as well as think less of those who do.
Another line of "hump logic", I guess

Seems like whatever the original genre of the series is they somehow manage to gradually move the sequels towards generic shooters. "We really like this Chess game, but how do we implement elements from Call of Duty into it?"
"That's not to say that Dead Space 3 won't take advantage of the PC's superior grunt – it'll look slightly better and run smoother. It just won't be fully optimised for PC".
Great, another shitty and unoptimized port is on its way.

But...some of the mocking "previews" have turned out to be true
It's all for fun, you shouldn't take that stuff seriously. The current state of the gaming industry serves up satirical pleasure on a silver plate..and what can I do.
Like Inter said, I've never tried to impose my view either, it's just a way to break the tension and take things light-heartedly, since being angry about butchered franchises, streamlined garbage and several failures ain't good for the health.
I remember DS1 having small jittery mouse issues, but nothing too unsettling in that regard. DS2, on the other hand, was almost flawless and perfectly playable.

You see him in the demo but he doesnt help you in any way. Maybe he does later in the game though, gotta wait for the full version to test, but ask in the console section, people leeched it on xbox already.
I prefer to leech the ps3 version myself in case I wanna play it online
