What's with the last screenshot?
Way too many units...
one of the nice things about this was the focus on having tiny little armies running around not stacks of massive amounts of units.

Looks nice, never played any of the games, but Shadow Magic is waiting on my 'to do" list.

Tasty, looks so very tasty. A new age of wonders game is really a dream come true, and it looks promising.

It's still turn based. Only now you command squads. instead of single units. Basically only visual representation is different.

Yeah, I don't know what he meant about TW style because the gameplay in the vid didn't scream TW to me. This one is a definite purchase.

TW is also grouped per units, as Imoen already said. That's all. I think it's much better and I'm looking forward to it.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

http://www.shacknews.com/article/80253/age-of-wonders-3-delayed-to-2014
Quote: |
Age of Wonders 3 has been moved to Q1 of 2014, a delay from its initial fall 2013 target. The announcement notes that development of the planned features is simply taking longer than expected, but in the meantime it will be organizing events and preparing its pre-order plans.
"We've made great progress developing the game and feel now is the time to give you heads up that we will take a bit more time creating all the features and content," the official site states. "Age of Wonders III is the largest game in the series and with the additional polish we hope we can give you an even better experience!"
It will be appearing at Gamescom, where Triumph studios will be showing off the classes. In the meantime, you can check out our preview for details on how the developers are updating the classic franchise.

The combat in the most recent video seems more inspired by the original game that Age of Wonders was inspired by.... Masters of Magic! Maybe he said Total War so the kids knew what he was talking about. Maybe he did not want to date himself or live up to the nostalgia associated with MoM.
