Can't wait for 'Crysis 3' looks awesome, 'Crysis 2' was excellent, 'Crysis 1' well...was a bit lame and clumsy, but it was just a prequel to 2 so alls forgiven crytek..
I don't care if successive games don't follow on from previous games, nor do i care for MP, as long as SP campaign rocks who cares.

This.

It's even said in the end of the "book" that the suit and it's operator are to be considered as one entity.

Maybe in C3 we see that it's actually the suit that is evil and ceph are just trying to save us.

If I am not mistaken Crytek keep mentioning "there's a twist at the end of Crysis 3!!" so maybe Razz

Then that's clearly better. Smile
(Maybe I was thinking of the 650ti or what it's called.)

These latest drivers have really helped the AMD 7000 series too.
(Though Nvidia is doing well with the 310+ drivers as well from what I've read, both have their share of issues too but it's improving.)

Not to mention every 7950 overclocks atleast to the CCC limits (on par with 7970 then), its a very good deal. Also the Windforce cooler is pretty good, had GTX 670 with it. Yes drivers needs to get some updates for Crysis 3, but latest beta´s already gave 50% increasement if AA enabled (well see slidehow probably on every card on retail version Very Happy).

Beta 4 which was the previous 13.2 release does a up to 50% increase in MSAA (4x) performance.

Beta 5 (Current release. - http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=374612 ) in addition does a up to 40% Crossfire performance gain thus once again competing with the SLI NV600 GPU's for which side has the best performance for Crysis 3 Smile
(Nvidia got a bit of extra performance as well as a few fixes with that 313.96 driver or what it was called, I'm unsure which side is currently "leading" as I've not checked on that.)

I just hope neither of them start cutting visuals too badly just to gain a few more FPS, some optimization is expected but at times they get a bit over aggressive about it, heh.
(AMD probably does some added optimizations for tessellation if you keep the default AMD Optimized setting in CCC, I keep it at 32x myself which is good enough for me compared to the default DX11 standard of 64x)

(Both AMD and Nvidia seem to have people with older GPU models complaining on various bugs and glitches, some of those reports are likely related to other stuff though, bad overclocking for example.)

Pretty sure as a EA game it'll only be available via Origin just like Dead Space 3, they used to also do Steam releases but there was some disagreement between Valve and them on DLC, Origin is now able to handle DLC on it's own though so I doubt they'll use Steam again.
(Trying to promote their own platform much like Ubisoft is starting to do I guess, they do sell Aliens Colonial Marines in the US and UK though which is a Steam dependent game, heh.)

It's available via Gamersgate and probably other sources (GreenManGaming and the like.) so you can definitively find it cheaper than EA's price unless it's Origin itself you dislike. Smile
(It's improved, latest beta is pretty good but it can hang at times for some odd reason.)

Thats so hilarious, even more hilarious considering its coming from a guy whos name in this forum is Intel_NVIDIA Smile Gonna use that "improved" avatar every time i post something from AMD. PS. I have always favored more Nvidia cards, but this gen AMD performance/pricing has been much better, thats why i swapped my GTX 670 away (needed the extra VRAM for 1440p).

You should tailor from this avatar to yourself, remember to add some lensflares.

I'm running an i7 3770 overclocked at 4.40ghz with 16gig ram.

Unfortunately I still have a GTX 280 so that's olding things back, reading above the gfx 670 is recommended...Is it worth getting that now or is there anything on the horrizon worth holding out for?

P.s Crysis 2 wasn't as good as Crysis 1, but it was still allot better than most shooters that get released these days

Nvidia is working on the Titan but it's selling for around 600 - 700 Euro or higher if those rumors are accurate so no there's nothing really.

Compared to the 280 the 670 should be a significant boost which should hold for quite a while plus you get DX11 support. Smile
(Don't know much about third party models compared to stock, default cooler and components have improved a lot though a custom one can be far quieter and still cool better though often it's a open design instead of a closed one so there's a bit of dust and hot air leaking into the case but that's not really a big issue.)

Oh and the CPU and RAM will mean you're not getting bottle-necked either. Smile
(Other than maybe the HDD loading speed unless you got a SSD, heh.)

Titan is a side-brand for rich hardware enthusiasts and is not a real next gen Nvidia card. Actual next gen from both nvidia and amd have been delayed till the end of 2013.

No, none of that has been confirmed. And neither company was going to do a "real next gen" this year anyway. This year is a refresh year, we got SI and Kepler last year. Next real new generation was never going to be in 2013.

not saying this is reliable in any way so take it for what it is:
Quote:
Sweclockers has suggested that the next generation of AMD and Nvidia GPUs will be delayed all the way until Q4 2013. According to their source, the GPUs won't show up until as late as October 2013. This means that the current GTX 600 series and HD 7000 series will be around for a little longer, possibly expanding their lifespan by up to two years before replacement.

I've got an SSD so happy days!

I've been out of the game for a while, it's hard getting back in to things again.

Think I'll go for a 670 and that should be me for the next few years hopefully.

after 100s of gtx 670 reviews and user feedback i think it boils down to these 2 cards:
gigabyte 670, slightly OCed, great cooler and blue PCB http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4211#ov
asus 670, OC same as gigabyte, great cooler but black PCB with backplate http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX670DC2OG2GD5/

don't buy cheapest crappiest brand, spend a little extra for good brand (usually that extra is just a few $ or eu)
