Some other sites have March 29th and 30th as "estimated" release dates, but they look more like wild guesses to me.
There's a discussion here: http://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/18907x/arma_3_to_be_released_in_march_according_to_czech/

As far as I know, they want to do a public alpha.
If that's true, I don't see how they can do a public alpha and go to gold in less than 2 months.
That just doesn't make sense.
Besides they must be behind the schedule thanks to the arrest of the 2 devs in Greek. Remember that one of them is just ArmA's lead designer. If it's true that they have diverted resources to DayZ standalone, than I would say that the best chances would be by the end of the third quarter or in the begin of the fourth quarter.

I agree with you, it seems very unlikely given that the game should be already almost completed by now (which I don't think it is). I guess we'll have to wait until the BI guys clarify everything.

And they said they want to make this one the most bugless of all their releases.

If they're still in the Alpha stage, then you'd be lucky to see it this year.

Here's to hoping its not an unoptimized piece of shit like ARMA 2.

I never understood why performance is so damned poor in that game. Is it simulating the effect a breeze has on each individual blade of fucking grass? Trying to find the cure for cancer in the background? The paint drying on the fucking walls of the building? What could possibly be going on in that game that would bring a 3.5ghz quad to its fucking knees on a regular basis?

As much as I applaud them for trying to go the "simulator" route in infantry combat, the engine they used on the previous iteration has to be one of the most poorly coded pieces of shite ever produced.

If that was truly the case it wouldn't have the huge following that it does.I been with the series since the beginning(OFP) Sure it has its issues but no other game can boast of the tech support BIS does.Years of fixes and the majority of problems were fixed years ago.Its the best thing going in the genre. The US and other militaries use it as a training tool which is further evidence of its greatness.(VBS series) Having served myself I can comfortably say its the close your gonna get short of enlisting.Ive had a decade of enjoyment with it that no other software out there can provide.Add mods tike ACRE and ACE and you have something close to perfection. Smile

There is always the crap COD,BF series, and MOH for those lacking the comprehension and patience.

I found ARMA II more optimized than the first one. I remember playing the game with a 8800gt and a q6600 at 2.4ghz without problems on normal settings. Then moved to a 6850 ATI and I maxed it out in most areas.

That's the true sign of a fanboi. Insult someone if they criticize a GAME you like and act like you are superior. Fuck you, buddy. Arma2 is STILL full of bugs. The interface is terrible. The voice work is is some of the worst ever. It has nothing to do with "lacking comprehension and patience" and everything to do with one's personal preferences.

I choose not to play it anymore because I don't like it. Just like I choose to block you so I no longer have to read your douchebaggery.

They want to follow the same pattern as Carrier Command. So it will depend a lot how the public alpha will run.

Hehe at least it will be easier for them (and for us too) to handle all the multiple incoming updates, and finally have all the deals under control (I bet they didn't like Amazon's for example..the games were too cheap Cool Face Razz).

Afaik Steam allows custom protections so my guess is that ARMA 3 will still have FADE.

Carrier Command doesnt have fade but thats maybe because it was made by Prague Team (Black Element Software) and not by the main Arma team

So that's €25 for access to the Alpha, Beta and Full release?

Nice.

(and some Alpha invites to give to my non-existent friends)
