PS4: AMD APU, apparently they're going to use two of those APU's and crossfire(!!!) the GPU-parts in the APU's.
Durango (codename for new Xbox): AMD CPU + HD7000 (GCN) chip for graphics.
That's as far as I know and have been well known for a while (and also why I think AMD partly pushed back the release of their next gen GPU's, they have too much to do with fulfilling both Sony and MS demands and orders.
nVidias Maxell won't show until 2014 anyway since it's been delayed by nearly a year due to the new process (14nm + some letters behind) not working at all (at the moment) with their design, so AMD really isn't in a hurry.
nVidia will have their flagship, the titan, that is out of reach for 99.5% of us, either because it's too expensive or because it's too ridiculous with 6GB of RAM while still on a Kepler chip.
AMD will continue working on the HD7000 range, perhaps update a few cards here and there, release some new ones with different specs to replace current cards (just like nVidia do when they don't have anything new on the horizon).

AMD don't make the chips for say xbox they design it then ms goes and get some one else to do it.
this was one of the reasons for the red rings faults because ms wouldn't pay amd to produce the product they got some one else so they cut costs in the production of the chips and cooling.
I remember reading that info long time ago from employees of ibm/amd/ms.

AMD wouldn't produce them now even if paid anyway, AMD is fabless. With the old Xbox, MS didn't do the production either, but they did have a hand in the materials used. That is what led to the RROD issues - same for Sony w/ Nvidia and the YLODs, all very similar issues and even not too different from Nvidia's own issues with G80/G92. In all 3 cases, cheaper materials led to the similar issues. MS doesn't have the technological know-how to even get a design produced, the entire production line is part of the chip's design process.
Nor will it affect AMDs desktop/mobile production, as AMD outsource it all to TSMC (as would MS) and it doesn't affect them in any way. As long as TSMC has the capacity, there's no problem. Given how much work TSMC will get from AMD in this case, AMD will have two separate lines for both the new consoles in addition to their own, existing capacity for desktop and mobile chips. TSMC's capacity is ever expanding and if I'm not mistaken, their latest fab (their biggest yet IIRC) should be finishing construction right about now.

the WiiU Premium costs 290£ at amazon.co.uk (US price: 370$!!), 300£ with ZombiU
the merkins pay less for hardware so I guess it will be 399$ over there

I'll be surprised if it's cheap.
I'll be surprised if they restructure their gaming division ie better games that focus on the past sony rather than the current sony where it's filled with adequate uninspired games.
Still gonna pick it up in a few years if there are games that need to be experienced (much like in this gen) and end up disappointed. I bought the ps3 to play lbp (which was shit) gt5 (which was shit) uncharted (which was derp, lol, and ended up being shit) the new insomniac franchise (which ended up also being shit) god of war hasn't improved since it's ps2 days. The first exclusives died quickly. But they held promise. Move was good but it also was shafted by sony rather quickly. Killzone tried too hard to be fresh and new and epic and it failed. [Don't copy cod. try something new!!!!!!! but don't try something new like insomniac did and failed]
This gen was really weak in terms of exclusives.
I'm more excited to see the xbox conference. I mean sony really has no studio that can provide true quality content. Even nintendo is struggling. The whole nintendo quality seal of approval thing is what's slowly killing nintendo. Release 10 games a year that are a lowest 8/10. But only like 10 games tops.  
Xbox really has NOTHING right now. Epic left. 343 is there to take over halo. Bungie left. Forza is going nowhere. Lionhead is pretty much dead in the water. Rare is focused on kinect. So ms has a lot to lose during their conference. In the last 3 years of xbox it became more of an entertainment console rather than a gaming console. They really don't have much going for it. So their conference is worth watching.
Sony fanboys are gonna ejaculate constantly. If ps4 has 4k playback. Jizz. If there are next gen games of the quality of when uncharted 2 was announced when there was a drought of epic HD games when it came out. Jizz. If it's cheap. Jizz. racing game. Jizz. TLG. Jizz. Coming early 2013. Jizz. Price (regardless of price). jizz. New studios. Jizz. New Ips. Jizz. Gaikai ps3. Jizz. PS+ evolved. Jizz. Backward compatability. jizz. Repurchase your PSN titles for ps4. Fanboys will justify it. Jizz.
if they cover all of that. then awesome. But I'm expecting a 4 jizz count in total. Well from me. I love gaming even though ms and sony and nintendo aren't really evolving in improving their content/ips and providing new content. But shit like this still makes me feel like a little boy staying up all night waiting for santa. \o/
But 40% of the whole conference will be sony talking about how much people love the playstation brand. Charts. Ads. CGI trailers. Pushing 4k content. 
Can't wait. I'll be working when it happens so i'll watch it when I get home. Gonna go on social network black out.

if that touchpad is at the same position as in these pix, its the stupidest idea ever. Try to push the select or start button while playing on the dualshock3, its just not ergonomical or natural
The only fingers you really got free are on the backside of the gamepad, they should put the pad there like the vita.

That indeed sounds as a dire situation for them, so in terms of "real" games, we can't expect much for xbox exclusive this time?

Ms has the funds and it can get the exclusives and it can get the games. But will they?
Sony has everything to lose. if ps4 bombs. sony gaming division gets cut.
but ps4 wont bomb. they have the cinemtatica herpa derp audience covered.
And as long as the price isn't 600 (current rumours are 450-550 range).
And it has the games the fans want.
It will do well.
And since both ps4 and x3 will share a similar arch... there won't be a need to pick both of these consoles. 360 had the third parties down. all 3rd party games ran better on the 360. ps3 was more of a exclusive console this gen. But if both get quality ports then 360 will die if it doesn't get the games. MS did they say they're working on 4 new ips. and yes the joke is that they're mostly kinect games. but they could be working on something.
Gaming has changed over the past 20 years.
Nintendo hasn't grown up and it just focuses on gameplay and games with an attractive child-friendly aesthetic (even though some of the themes in their games are rather grown up). It hasn't really moved up. Whereas sony/ms have grown up but haven't matured and even though the games available on those systems aren't EPIC and BRILLIANT they feature seemingly/wanting to be mature content. Blood/gore/swearing/violence/dudebro. And that shit sells system. Every 13 year old wants to play an M rated game. It's like looking at porn when you're a kid. or having a cigarette. Or drinking beer. But who cares. lol.
So if you look at cod, forza, ass creed, and what else sells then you can pretty much guess what kind of new ips will be coming to ps4/720.
GTA Clone.
COD Clone.
Forza/GT5 Clone.
Platformer (which is a dying genre for fucks sake)
Tomb Raider/Uncharted Clone
GOW Clone.
Fuck I'd be fucking happy if next gen was dominated by good, no qte, honest adventure games. Bring back platformers. Bring back gecko. Bring back hype the time quest. Bring back Crash. Bring back Pandemonium. Get sega to bring back their franchises. Bring back power stone. Do fucking zelda clones. Evolve fable. Like ffs... all we have now is FPS/TPS/SIM RACING and Pseudo Adventure games. Like WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON.
The kids aren't runing gaming. the derps aren't to blame. it's the publishers who are the pussies who are afraid to push new ideas. and it's the devs who'd rather work on a shit game that will sell than a good game that will give them proper recognition.

It's true though. But it's more exciting watching a chicken with its head cut off running around for a while than a chicken eating its feed. 
Tomorrows thing will surely be interesting. all them rumours coming out today are lulz. It's like sony is going crazy mad and in deep need for moneys.
