pretty pointless, as faces in pc games never looked like that from 2008 demo.
only one thing close to 'jaw dropping' came up yesterday - that capcom engine "demo", the lightning in cave when ork-like character takes the torchlight and turns his back is fucking amazing. anyway icons and something that supposed to look like item swapping looks pathetic and tacked-on to pretend like it was real gameplay. looking forward to see more of that but as for now prerendered stuff is obviously prerendered.
PS4 specs: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/playstation-4-ps4-amd-apu-hardware,21191.html. Love that USB3 is included and GDDR5 is a future-proofing move *BUT* No IEEE 802.11 ac (becoming the new standard as N was utter sh*t) or 4K Video (not a biggie as those displays are affordable 3-4 years out)? I don't mind the lack of 4K (yet) but would have been REAL NICE to have the interface ready but lack of Wifi AC is kinda.. odd.. considering AC routers are everywhere now although consoles go online and N is sufficient Wifi speed to play games with. Just would have been forward-thinking much like they added USB3.
Still.. overall looks better than xShiet720 coming.. so far..

I find it more worrying that it's single-band 2.4 GHz N as well. Not even 5 GHz. And BT 2.1, not 4.0? Broadcom sell chips that can be replaced 1:1 ffs :/
The only good thing to come from these new consoles is that possibly the rumours could be true and they could actually use x86, which means suddenly porting a game can be done by a very small team very quickly without performance problems
you sure about that?
I cant code but lets assume most ppl have a quad core cpu and most ppl have ddr ram. Arent these factors a big dif. To the ps4 hardware that pose a problem for console ports?

There are some differences but compared to this gen, its a pretty good situation.
Many devs on twitter are praising the X86 choice for ease of development, its gonna be a very homogenous generation between the platforms.
What could suck is the choice for a 8 core cpu, that could kill the perfomance for many dual core users , maybe even midrange quads if not coded properly. I think, im not very good with tech stuff

No, unless they specifically assign tasks to specific cores (possible, but bad practice). Scheduler is the one responsible for deciding which thread goes on which core
the fact that they don't allow us to take our psn games over ps4 its a enough reason to shit on it and don't buy it, just invest in a PC sure its more money but it never let me down, i will just keep my ps3 and collection and play it until i get bored and say a big F.U. to PS4, or buy a really cheap one at 2nd hand and mod it when the time comes.
That is the biggest slap in the face guys, some have a lot of original games purchased. heh, fu sony
Assuming it's true, no surprises there.
But try and post that on the console forums only to get the "lol it's not like you need to sell your older consoles lol"

I have no clue about the tech side of PS4, but since PS4 is basically a x64 PC, does this mean porting games from PS4 to the PC will be alot easier thus we might see games like RDR on the PC?
Haven't read through all pages in this topic, but didn't see this mentioned.
According to a Belgian newspaper, there's no backward compatibility AT ALL. Sony is currently working with devs on making PS3 games available digitally.

Of course you can't run them! the PS4 is basically a PC, no? Can you run PS3 games on the PC?
Hopefully Sony will release a mighty emulator for 199$ and people will be happy again.
Who the fuck even needs 4k seriously. Majority of people don't even have 1080p HD TVs let alone 4k
No idea. I am NEVER planning to get anything bigger than 23inch for my pc... And 1080 or 1440p is more than enough on it.
And 1080p on 5' phone? WWWWTTTFFF
When I was a kid 512x384 was medicore. 640x480 was great and 800€600 was the future
