RoG stuff isnt overpriced shit, its pure quality.

Maybe because there isnt blocks available for Titan yet? Also its pure waste just to watercool CPU. And those closed loops are far from shit.

Yeah... no (although this is only based on my last experiences with asus hardware, one GPU and one mobo broke down. Also one of my colleagues had one RoG laptop that needed a new fan after less then a year Laughing)
So I'm guessing pure quality means that those products won't break down... too bad that the competition already has those and at a lower price then

High end air is better while also being more quiet than closed loop system, people seem to mistake that a quiet closed loop system is good but infact it is pretty awful, and if you want any kind of decent performance out of a closed loop system you need loud fans compared to what you could achieve on a high end air cooler.

I didn't really talk about the GPU cooling to begin with, but SLI/Crossfire does kind of require water if you want to even think of overclocking.

Heck, the 20€ Thermalright TrueSpirit I had is better than a H80, if both are equipped with same fans, which costs what, 80€ I think?

I just got a 7950. It's a beast, I get 50+f/s in Crysis 3 on ultra, and it is easily clocked faster than a 7970.

My biggest issue with closed loop systems is that they are hard (if not impossible) to upgrade. My original water cooling setup that I built is still at work but I've made several changes to it over the years (from 8800GTX and no cpu cooling to 2 GTX295's, cpu, mosfet, and northbridge coolers all in line with the same pump, radiator, and fans; well, I did replace one fan because a fin broke when my cat decided to stick her paw in it while I had a fanguard removed so I could clean the rad). And that setup is now in my living room attached to my TV and acts as a media server.

I do agree that, with the right placement and type of fans, they can be just as good as a single loop, closed loop system with a single fan rad and two fans in a push/pull configuration. Simple air cooling just doesn't offer the same type of cooling efficiency as liquid though. I can run my HTPC with the fans turned way down and still maintain good temps, so long as I'm not running Prime95 all of the time (who would torture test their machine all of the time?). I average ~18°C (in a room that is near that same temp) while serving up movies or letting SickBeard do its magic. When gaming, I get ~30°C across the board (GPU, CPU, etc.), not that I game on that rig all that often.

I apologize for going slightly OT here, but I had to add my experienced two cents into the mix.

For the record, the GTX295's have really stood the test of time and are holding up nicely (this being the GPU discussion board and all).

Also, I see that EVGA is going to have some different versions of the TITAN GTX (just different clock speeds and/or water-cooled, AFAIK) and I do believe that I might just pick up a couple of them because I'm one of those fat, lazy, ego-centric, moronic Americans that just has way too much money to blow.

Well, that and the fact that I work three jobs to afford my toys and save over 30% for my eventual retirement along with owning a home that is almost paid for (I financed it for 15 years instead of the average 30) and working even when I'm sick (I've only taken off two sick days in eleven years and they were consecutive days last year when I had the flu along with a severe upper-respiratory infection that had spread to my ears and eyes thus making me so dizzy I couldn't get out of bed).
I think that I've earned those cards.

Hell, I might just buy three of them and smash one just so I can post the video here. I might title it, "TITAN gets hammered."

And another thing, what's with all the bickering lately? (he says as he throws a few hundred gallons of gas on the flames along with some pure oxygen)

It would depend on what games you play really. I upgraded from a 560 Ti to the 660 Ti recently and didn't get a whole lot of improvement for most of the games I had been playing since my CPU is now the limiting factor.

Yeah looks like EVGA is releasing a Hydro Copper version. It'll be interesting to see if it is possible to overclock those version of the Titan to 1200-1300mhz. Likely will be able to with that amount of cooling and the higher binned chips.

Although the stock cooling on the Titan works great if you just want something that works well and doesn't take as much space. Triple SLI titans is just beast. Not cost effective, but if you have money to blow you can't get better.

Anyways, I know Asus's factory overclocked Titans will be basically running at stock 680 speeds.

I am actually more intimidated by the fact that I will need a giant case, motherboard with 3 PCI-E x16 slots, and a monster of a power supply. Also it just kinda freaks me out having so much hardware stuck in one case... there will come a time when I will need to get rid of those cards, and it's hard enough to say goodbye to one Crying or Very sad

Pick one for me too Sniffty! All this Next Gen chit chat has made me eager to jump into the Must buy a VideoCard asap bandwagon. xD

It's all for shit and giggles though, it would take me almost an entire year to save 1000€, and I would probably have to neglect the most basic needs in order to collect that sum of money grinhurt

reviews are in http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_titan_review,1.html

GTX690 seems way better in most of the tests for the same price (or maybe even cheaper with some deal), the only reason to go Titan is if you want fastest single GPU card i guess.

And claiming it is quiet lol:

Put equal fans on both and the TS will outperform the H80 all day any day.

All those are on stock fans, which is a single fan on the TrueSpirit. Put Push/Pull on it and it will whoop the floor with the H80.
As you can see even with Push/Pull setup the H80 barely manages to pull ahead if any at all.

I rest my case: Closed loop is a waste of money when a 25€ cooler manages to beat it under similiar setup.

Custom loop is just supawesum! http://stigez.com/ocn/ocformula/overview.jpg
